Is it just time to accept we’ll never be “back”?

Call it accepting mediocrity, I don’t know but is it time to accept UM is never going to be a player on the national stage again? Some say the program is cursed, I say it’s just a matter of a small, private university, with a relatively small alumni/fan base and donors that can’t keep up with the big boys.

Although we’re spending more we always just seem to fall behind what other serious programs will do to win and win big.

No, it is time to stop pretending Mario has brought in elite class after class or can coach them up to being elite. We need to steal elite players, that is our only hope with Mario.

No, and it will never be that time. Miami is a sleeping giant and one year, the right coach, with the right staff and the right budget will put us back. So far, it's just not happened with Mario. Hoping he does get it. Mark my words, regardless of what his contract says or doesn't say, if Mario ends next season with fewer than 9 wins and shows tons of promise for the future, he will be replaced within 13 months from the end of next season.

I don't want that. I want him to succeed. But, he painted himself into this corner and he either gets this fixed and in a hurry or he might want to also do serious introspection on whether or not he's equipped to do the job he was hired for - just like Emory.

I don't want to be right about this. I want to eat crow about this in the worst way.

You're just getting this now huh?
Go alllll the way back to Coker...that was the end.

Yup, everyone has speed and play makers now. Miami was only a handful of teams that used to be elite in that area
