I think every rational adult reading this board is aware of what I’m saying and the accuracy of it. Let’s not be silly.
I guess I'm not rational. You're being irrational and perhaps silly. Don't accuse me of it.
You said simply, "Mexicans don't play football."
Mexicans DO play football.
In the '50's and '60's, freshmen were not eligible for varsity play in American colleges. Hence, colleges fielded freshman teams.
Our freshman team played the Mexican college team, Mexico Poly, quite regularly. And often lost to them.
DaytonaCane's late husband, Doug Davis, who started for us at fullback in the late '50's (along with the All American QB Fran Curci, and future legend Jim Otto), played Mexico Poly (or maybe it was Mexico City Poly). She posted here several months what her late husband said about playing that team, especially their quickness.
Another great story was how George Mira was roughed up on a tackle and how he startled Mexico Poly players by giving them crap in Spanish, which they didn't expect.
You said simply that Mexicans don't play football. If you meant only Mexican Americans in Texas, I don't know if you're right or wrong.
I suspect Ephraim Banda's ancestry might be Mexican American. I know that there are many Americans of Mexican ancestry whose families have lived in the US decor centuries.
I'll have to add mind-reading to the skills I'll have to develop to understand much of this board in addition to having to decipher a whole new form of English that was not known in my earlier years.
