Interesting comment by Titans

This. Every **** year these NFL execs/owners blab some BS online or in an interview and then during the draft do the exact opposite. Ppl reading into this is hilarious
Every year. Now if they sign Darnold or some other QB this offseason, I’ll change my tune.

I disagree. Not at this time of the year. This is the stuff you are most likely to believe as truth and when the draft comes around, its the January/February rumors you need to go back and remember. Everything in the process is going to go into evaluating that player to give them reasons to NOT draft that player. But these are the rumors and reports that are more true.

If this came out in mid-March...you'd have a point. mid-January? I'll probably put Hunter at R1P1 in mocks for the entire time based on that information.

So NFL execs don’t know what the **** generational means either?

Cool

Travis Hunter is the duckboat of football players. It’s pretty neat to have one unique vehicle that can drive on land and go in the water, but you are probably better off having a boat and a car separately.

I think some of yall are being way critical with Hunter.

It sucks he's going to go to a ****bum team that will ruin almost any player they draft...if he went to a team with a modicum of intelligence, you've got a truly unique piece with superstar potential that can star on one side of the ball and be a chess piece on the other. I think he's got unreal genetics and cardio for days and can play both ways in the NFL. He's just different, IMO. He's Jalen Ramsey that can give you snaps and scores at WR. (before anyone jerks Ramsey off...I've seen that ******* get turned into powdered toast more times than I can count...so while its a compliment to Hunter, relax).

I just don't know if he's getting there with some ****bum team with poor coaching, roster building, ownership etc etc which is what he's going to get at the top of the draft.

Travis Hunter is a great player. Anyone who says different is just mad because they are fans of Ward, or Sanders, Jeanty, etc…
Hunter deserves to be a top 5 pick. My memory is that Deion was drafted 3rd by the Falcons. I think Deion in college was slightly better as a CB, and Hunter is better as a WR.

All that being what it is, it is basically impossible to have sustained playoff success in the NFL without a great QB. Just look at the conference semifinals; Goff, Hurts, Stafford, Daniels, Jackson, Allen, Stroud and Mahomes.

Now name 5 DB’s who played without looking up the names. Right or wrong, the NFL is completely a QB league. As such, Ward and even Sanders, have more organizational value than Hunter, despite how great he is.

Oh, I agree with that. I wouldn't take Hunter first overall. If you're picking at 1, you likely need a QB, and if there is any that qualify as a R1 or T10 type of QB, he's gotta go number one.

Lol at Hunter being a generational talent and being taken number 1. He’s a phenomenal talent but he won’t have anywhere close to the impact on a franchise that an uber talented QB would have. But the Titans just may be that stupid
Hunter is close to a can’t miss talent. Same can’t be said for Cam or Sanders.

Agree completely. If you don’t have a QB in NFL, chances of sustained success are limited. That said, this is a horrible QB class. Cam and Sanders are the obvious top options, but neither is a sure thing. If you invest in a QB and don’t hit, your franchise is likely set back 3-4 years and the GM won’t get a chance to draft another QB. I personally would be comfortable investing in Cam. But if Titans aren’t sold on QB at 1, then Hunter or Carter from Penn State make sense.

Smoke screen season has begun
I'm surprised (not really) that people don't realize this.

Pre-draft, combine & leading up until the draft, any public statement made by GM's of teams drafting in the top 5 mean absolutely nothing.

GM's, scouts, front office personnel etc, will purposely create the idea that they like a particular player even if they have no intentions on drafting them. It's called gamesmanship.

As a Steelers fan I concur. Both the Viking and Steelers have the 3rd best QB; in their division.
We both have probably the best offensive and defensive player in the game. Which is great until January. Too often people call it a team game but I’ve seen some **** good Vikings team in my lifetime minus elite QB play. Hence why we have the second highest winning percentage since the merger but no rings.

I don’t believe that about any player. Players are so much stronger and faster in the nfl that I can’t look at college performance and say a player will be great in the nfl. Nearly all first rounders have the same boom/bust potential. I’ll make a gentleman’s wager with you that in 10 years, the player who is considered the best from this class will not be one of the top 5 guys drafted in April.

Obviously no player comes with a guarantee, but Hunter and Carter come with less risk than the QBs.
