Insurance policy at QB

He going to sit around abd hold the clip board?
If he wants to be a guaranteed starter I think he has to go way down in competition level. Here he knows the staff likes him and he's #2 and a turned ankle away from the spotlight at worst. And yes some guys are okay holding the clipboard until it's their turn. Kid is still only going into his RS sophomore year.

Unless he can make a forward pass that don’t get knocked down every time he can’t be 2 either

He should not be #2. Need a #2.
I agree but the fact is even when we sign a starting QB unless Nickel is the goods right away he probably has that #2 spot locked down. So I'm not sure it's that alluring to go hold a clipboard somewhere else. Not to mention which P4 schools are lining up to bring him in?

Put me in the camp that says Emory can and will still be a productive starting QB at UM.

Hate away, if you must.

If he completed 100% of his passes that don’t get knocked down at the line he’d have a completion rate of 50%.

What if Kirk didnt let that TD pass go through his hands? Then Emory woulda had a TD pass on the record. What if? What iff? What ifff?

Emory had a bad half against a top five defense against the pass. They were #4 coming into the bowl game before Cam Ward's first half. That's all that happened. He's still a high level QB.

If you truly think this, then I’m really just left speechless. What in the world do you see in him that would make you think that that’s possible? He has a weak arm, he has a low slow release along with zeroing in on one receiver, which is why all his balls get batted down by the defensive line and he’s about as athletic as my grandma. He is a group of five quarterback at Best and those are the facts for anybody that knows how to watch film!

Not trying to start an argument... but why do you feel this way?
What's this based on? He was terrible in the bowl game.

See post #36.

And see that he won the Clemson 2023 game against a top ten defense. And had us driving for the game tying TD at FSU when FSU was a 12 win team.

We'll be fine with Emory, if he ends up being the starter next year. You should not compare him to Cam Ward, which is what those two halves forced many to do.

@NicKane - adding you to this post.

High-level quarterback may be at an FCS program. He’s not even high level at group of five. I feel like you’re honestly just trolling because you can’t be this blind?!

He hasn’t played well in a single start and didn’t look good in the spring game. We have never seen him look like a good quarterback at any point at Miami when we were allowed to watch
