Incoming DT Transfer

Year 3, taking guys who couldn't start for Illinois.

Unfortunately, we need him.

Adrian Colbert couldn't start for Texas. He was an awesome add for us and is now excelling in the NFL.

Sad part of this complaint is he did start 4 games last year. He also came out of high school as a 6'3 241 DE... did anyone expect him to be an impact the first couple of years at DT?

Illinois Athletics - Tito Odenigbo - 2017

2017 Junior
Played in 10 games with four starts at defensive tackle
29 tackles (10 solo), 4.5 TFLs, 1.0 sack, two pass breakups
Tied for second on the team in TFLs (4.5)
Blocked a field goal at South Florida and added four tackles, 1 PBU and 0.5 TFL
Career-high six tackles at Minnesota

For comparison sake

Kendrick Norton
26 tackles (14 solo) and added 6.5 tackles for loss...Had two sacks

So basically we just replaced the production Norton gave us........

Porsters are retarded.

You can't help but default to that simpleton outlier stuff every once in a while, can you?

Not fully trained.

Teams that are two years away don't make moves like this. Specifics are laughably irrelevant when the big picture shouts.

We're pretty much set at DT now. Looking worlds better then last year.

Alabama (yes that Alabama) took a grad transfer wide receiver from friggin Bowling Green two seasons ago. What were they two years away from?

Reminds me of Michael Sam....

In what way?

Stop it you know **** well in what way.

I thought Miami had passed on these types when UM didn't sign the cheerleader DT from Texas. This DT transfer is Sam's and Arman rolled up into a bigger package.

UM staffers should have kept Tito's recruitment in the closet until after national signing day.

Do you know the type of negative recruitment that's gonna go on behind closed doors because of this against Miami.

Can you imagine the damage to UM's local brand, Tito could make a cameo appearance in Moonlight part 2. I Trust coach Kool but this offer is helluh suspect.

Go Canes

Nothing wrong with dipping your toes into the Grad Transfer market. I don't like relying on them to be impact players, but I feel they help replace the attrition candidates with at least someone that can actually play a little bit. I mean, Tito is better then Ryan Fines and Boulware is better then say...Bar Milo. For Tito, he'll eat snaps in a reserve role. But, I can't imagine him seeing significant time, considering he wasn't a starter for a 2-10 team.

DT is the essential position for hurricane defense. You take a frigging work release prisoner from Starke if you have too. This kid has the right size and comes with P 5 experience in conference with good olives and S&C. No matter how good incomeong freshmen are, the longer season in college football always leaves them gasping late in the season and that is when the games matter the most—remember. Greta pick up by staff.

Are you kidding me? This is like replacing one of Golden’s last recruits with someone not from Golden’s mess. He has not been conditioned that getting fat is all that matters. Kid is use to playing against some good olines that pound the rock. Incase you have not noticed we have problems with teams like that. I love this pick up.

This may be true and he could just end up a backup who gets spot duty here and there.
But let's see how things play out. People are burying the kid already down the depth chart without seeing how he adapts to his new environment and gets acclimated.
With aforementioned great coaching in Miami maybe he can be productive. The kid may also be thinking that this is his ticket to the pros and may overachieve. You never ever know.

Listen to The Legend. I told you guys awhile back that we'd get into the grad transfer market at DT.

This dude's a mature grown man. Might not have the talent of the freshmans we are bringing in, but he's ready to play right now at this level and has been in the mix in P5 football.
Yup, and say what you will about the BIG TEN, they usually produce great talent in the trenches

This guy's been on a **** team for 3 years getting his *** kicked by bigger better teams every week. I'm sure that hardened him a little. He's out there every week getting pounded on by some big bruising OL from Iowa, Ohio Taint, Wisconsin, etc. with no supporting cast around him.

Listening to his interview I'm sure that wasn't the only thing pounding on him on a weekly basis.

Oh jeez. He is the anti Nesta Silvera.

What defensive system did this kid play in at Illinois?

I'm not 100% b/c I never watched Illinois, but their HC always ran a 4-3 Cover 2 scheme in the NFL. He helped pioneer the "Tampa 2" for the Bucs, and he carried it over to the Bears. I'm pretty sure that's the system he was in there.

You mean like Alabaga adding grad transfer WRs from Oregon State and Ball State, Mullaney and Dieter, in successive years, you dopey wounded facquit? They both played a lot for Alabaga and helped them win big.
