If you think the run game is bad..

Oregon is the #37 run defense. Jeanty put up 192 & 3TD's. In Oregon's 3 other games combined they've given up 227 & 3 TD's.

Now look at the run defenses we've played:

USF - #73
VT - #103
UF - #110
Ball St - #125

It doesn't get much easier than that.

And we're about to face #29 Cal & #23 Louisville.

Cam Ward is Superman, but the run game better step it up starting this week.
That has nothing to do with what I wrote. Nothing.

To your point, if we pass for 500 yards per game and score 5-6 TDs that way, I don’t care if we rush for seven yards combined. I prefer winning.

I do this every few years...and this just made me do it again. You go back and look at 1988 Barry Sanders. Its absurd. Everyone knew he was getting it, the game was slower (huddles, pace of play ,etc) and he still did this....and Nebraska was up 42-0 in the 2nd and Barry willed them back into a competitive game. Oklahoma was obviously elite at this time too.

157 yards versus A&M?

Guy sucks and should’ve been benched.

I know you are joking...but I thought "I wonder what happened in these lower outage game."

So i looked it up.

Sanders only played 2 1/2 quarters and then before sitting him down he went in to return a punt and ended up returning it for a TD.

Colorado Game - apparently he was nursing a sore hamstring so they were "careful" with him and Colorado had several future NFL players on Defense so overall they did a very good job.

Missouri - quiet first half only 84 yards, they basically dared Ok State and their QB (Gundy) to do something else. Then OK St ran off with it. Barry didnt play the last 11 minutes

Ok St coach said Barry didnt play the 4th quarter in 3-4 games.

Best part of a trip to Detroit was Barry Sanders picture on a huge building.

He was a great.

I'm not coming at you, I agree with a lot of what you're saying

Where my responses have relevance to what you wrote is:

- You said Oregon isn't real good on defense. I pointed out they actually are
- When comparing Jeanty numbers to our RB's, you point out Boise St isn't playing a strong schedule. I pointed out neither are we.

I completely agree with you numbers can be skewed for passing heavy / run heavy offenses. But Jeanty is just crushing it, point blank.

I completely agree with you I'll take a win any way we can. And I can project out Cam's 15 game pace to show he's putting Joe Burrow like numbers - without the benefit of throwing to 2 of the Top 5 WR's in the NFL.

I think we should lean heavy in Cam, as we have. He's superman this year. It would just be nice for the run game to give him more support so we're not forced to be one dimensional.

Fair enough. I agree with what you're laying down, even if I am slightly disappointed that you're not looking for a fight (kidding).

I'm not sure #37 is really that good, but ok. To be totally real, the rankings (defense, offense, ST and overall) are crap right now because we don't have enough data and (more importantly) the date we do have (for all teams) is skewed because of the wimpy teams that most everyone has played. I wish we could make a lot of changes with CFB; in particular and as it applies here, I wish we could eliminate all but one of the pansy games for all teams. I wish we all opened with one gimme game and the rest were conference games or bona fide matchups of D1 teams.

And yes, Jeanty is elite and will likely be in NYC.

That game vs. Texas Tech is why college football is massive in Japan.
