If Miami wins ACC Championship- Peach Bowl

The 5 seed is a sneaky good spot. You get a home game vs the G5 representative (which will be the 12 seed).

Then you get a quarterfinal game against the worst P4 champion, which will likely be the Big 12.

Could easily be the 5 seed and be pretty significantly favored in both your games to the semifinals.

I am going to get downvoted for this —— but hypothetically, if we went into the ACC championship game undefeated and lost, we may get the 12 seed (I think that’s at large and not reserved for G5). It’s looks like actually a far easier path to the National championship game than the 2 or 3 seed. So while losing the ACC championship would be a bummer, seems like we’d be in a better position for the big prize than if we won (I’m not rooting for a loss - just purely looking at matchups).

No 12 seed is for anyone, if the G5 finished inside the top 12, they wouldn’t be the 12 seed

They’re only the 12 seed if they finish outside the top 12 rankings

Correct. The semifinal games are the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl. There is a VERY strong chance that if somehow we can get into the semifinals, the game will be at Hard Rock.

5 seed is going to the highest rated 2nd place SEC or B1G team. The ACC is not getting 2 top 5 seeds.

Because of this is why I see them re-seeding after the first round moving forward. SEC teams will complain (the ncaa will obviously listen) that they are getting the worst draws.
The NFL gets it right. Lowest seeded teams should play the highest seeded teams each week of the playoff. Set brackets suck. One of my pet peeves about March Madness. I'm the #1 seed, but if the 15th seed beats #2, #7/#10 winner gets to play #15 and I'm stuck playing the #8/#9 winner.

This times 1000. This is part of why we want the highest seed we can get. Imagine playing at home to potentially punch our ticket to the National Championship game.

Especially knowing that semi-final matchup is likely going to be against one of the Big 10 or SEC teams

For the 5-12 play in games

Will these be more like a regular home game or an NCAA tournament venue?

Definitely the former. CFP executive director Richard Clark said visiting teams will only receive around 3,500 tickets. “We want it to feel like a home game,” he said. “You (the higher seed) earned that opportunity.”

Which means go undefeated and left out of ACC champ game. We would slot in the 5.
