Previously, I was under the assumption Clemson needed to lose this weekend wouid be better for us …(I know we blew it,)

But, If Clemson beats SMU … and let’s say they beat them by 21+ … how far would SMU drop ?

Couid it be possible they drop below us ? 11-2 vs 10-2… we have the stronger Strength of Schedule .. we beat all of the common opponents they’ve had .. our 2 losses .. they didn’t have to play those teams ..

Their loss out of conference loss to BYU … our Out of Conference win vs UF ..

They’re number 8.. couid they drop 5 spots in a blow out loss?

Kind of why bama is over us .. if the committee applied that “brand” advantage to us over SMU ?

In this case both Bama and Miami makes it in . SMU out

We are 1st team out ..

Clemson losing wouldn’t change anything .. but SMU losing could …
Thoughts ?

Dude it’s over. Smu should be in even with a loss and the committee said they won’t hold teams to the fire for playing in conference title games. Although they did say bama could jump them with a loss. For that reason I am cheering for the mustangs to be in over bama with a loss. Its over for us so might as well ruin the sec narrative

Is there a possibility Bama gets left out? At this point I know our fate is sealed but I want to drag those overentitled ******* down with us.

I think the only way Bama is possibly out is potentially SMU losing a close game to Clemson but even then I still think the committee will drop smu down past Bama and ahead of us as they have a clear agenda

Personally hoping Bama gets in over 11-2 SMU.

SMU has difference making money, and public sentiment outside of the SEC would never be more on the side of change needing to be made. May lead to something actually being done. Maybe not. But who cares, it can’t get worse.

Georgia would have to lose to Texas 222-0 in order for us to jump them.

I'd almost like to see Clemson lose, if it would **** over Alabama.

The committee's message is clear. They will take both teams from the ACC Champ game if they have to take two ACC teams.

The real question comes from the UNLV vs Boise game. If Clemson and UNLV win is Bama out?

Despite what the committee said (no changes for teams not playing), the only possibility still alive is....

Smu beats Clemson by 30 (damaging one of Georgia's wins)

Texas beats Georgia by 30 (damaging Bamas win).

Boise beating UNLV by 30 (allowing Duke to become "ranked").

Committe says it doesn't matter, but i don't see how things like this don't matter. Don't expect it, but that's the only miracle situation I see.

I also suspect this is correct, but I am still going to root for Clemson just so that the Committee exposes themselves.

Clemson wins and both SMU and Clemson are in whole Alabama is now left out.

The committee already burned their bias card, they couldn't drop SMU and if they did you'd see Big 12 and ACC go ballistic

(Big12 is setting up to not get a bye and their commissioner is already chirping about it)

Ya they wouldn't deserve to be and it's BS the committee says that

SMU only win is Louisville and it was down to the wire, aided by refs. They've beaten no one. Avoided both techs and Cuse beside UM and Clemson

If I’m not mistaken, the playoff committee saying it won’t penalize teams in the championship game isn’t actual written policy, it’s just as much made up bull**** as saying Miami blowing a 21 pt lead is worse than Bama getting crushed by Oklahoma. They could just as easily say, “upon further consideration, we think it is only fair to take into account performance in championship games when determining the best teams for the playoffs. As evidenced by Bamas inclusion in the last ranking, sometimes the playoff caliber teams don’t make it to their conference championship game.”

Weird how we blew it, but Alabama can lose to a pair of 6-6 teams and not blow it. Weird, huh?
We don’t like lobbying for our team. Instead, ’Canes prefer to do what we complain other fan bases and media do and push us down as far as possible.

Other teams will do anything and everything it takes to find a narrative that supports them and push it as hard as they can until the fat lady sings. Whatever it takes to get in, no matter how small a chance.

But not us! We won five national championships in such a short amount of time, we have to be harder on ourselves! We don’t deserve it.
