hurricanes in the NFL HOF

there is not a "logjam" at WR.

Not for truly great WRs.

Why are people even Mentioning Hines Ward? Hines Ward and Andre Johnson?? Really? laughable.

Then you got guys like Torry Holt being mentioned ahead of Wayne? Really? Wayne already has better numbers AND he still has at least 2 more decent seasons ahead of him. By the end of this thing he may have 1100+ catches for 15,000 yards and 90 tds.

You guys are insane on this WR thing.

There's a reason why Chris Carter, Andre Reid, and Tim Brown were waiting... they are all borderline HOF players.

Marvin Harrison isn't gunna be waiting for years like those guys. Neither will Fitz, or Calvin, Moss, Andre, etc.

LOL at Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin. Are you guys serious?

Cris Carter was a "borderline HOF" despite having 1,101 catches 13899 yards and 130 TDs, but Andre is a lock?

If Jerry Rice didn't exist Carter would have held almost every receiving record in the NFL when he retired.

Steve Smith has 783 catches, 11555 yards and 64 TDs
Anquan Boldin has 786 catches 10380 yards and 59 TDs
Andre Johnson has 838 catches 11476 yards and 56 TDs.

Where exactly is the power gap? Especially when you factor in Andre having nothing in terms of playoff success and a guy like Boldin who has been one of the most productive playoff players in the last 5 or 6 years.

Yes. Andre is a lock.

Chris Carter played for 16, count em, 16 seasons. He's a compiler. He was never considered one of the games top 1-2 Wr's. During part of his prime, he wasn't even the best WR on his own team. He's similar to Reggie Wayne actually. Wayne and Carter are both HOFers. I could see Wayne having to wait 2-3 years... but neither are in the class with Andre Johnson, Calvin, Harrison, etc.

As for Boldin vs Johnson

You have to be elite.

1 guy has 5 ALL PRO Teams.
The other guy has ZERO.

As for Smith vs Johnson

You do understand that Smith has been in the league for 2 more seasons, Johnson already has 50 more catches, and trails him by less than 100 yds. Smith will be lucky to have another 1000 yard season in him. Johnson has a chance for 2 more 1500 yard seasons.

You understand that, i'm sure

Good lawd, you just owned that debate.

for those that like this sort of stuff... here's a good read. Predicting the next 5 classes.

Think the dude has it pretty nailed down. Though I don't see any possible way that Brian Dawkins is a 1st ballot HOF. If that's the case, they should put Ed Reed in the HOF while he's still active. Dawkins may get in 5 years down the road, but how is that dude a 1st ballot kind of a player?

Interesting case study will be Terrell Owens. I wouldn't vote for him because he did as much harm as he did good for most of the teams he played on. That's not a Hall of Famer to me
