Honest Thoughts on Mario as a Recruiter in the Age of NiL

All I know is recruiting use to be the only thing you could count on with Mario and now that don't seem to be the case. If he can't recruit then what?

Notwithstanding the illegal bags from the traditional bag schools, yeah… money’s a great equalizer.

Yep. CFB is moving away from hiring a staff full of crooters like it used to be. It's certainly critical but the playing field is more level and you can have a staff of average recruiters and big money and you're golden. Since the parity exists, the differences in outcome are smaller and smaller which makes onfield coaching that much more critical. That is something we struggle with.

everyone knows Mario is an elite recruiter even the fans that hate him know that. Miami is just getting negatively recruited of an impending fall off ala fsu in 2024 for next season however our situation is much different. But anyways that negative recruiting is working with some of these kids unfortunately

Solid but not great...NIL took away his perceived advantages. Player development is even more critical than before, and he leaves a lot to be desired in that regard. This season was the exception, expect 7-5 seasons with an occasion 8- or 9-win year

It’s time to be a better evaluator than recruiter or we’re going to left behind.

There is no room for us to whiff and keep pace with the top 5-8 NIL programs
We are one of the top 5 to 8 and NIL programs. Smh

Texas, Oregon, A&M, Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, Auburn I would say is top 7 easily right now.

Then you have teams throwing big money in spurts like Florida (maybe Michigan unless their Oracle guy is around to stay). That's the top 8 right now

We're in a bucket with Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, Indiana, Penn State, etc.

80+% of our collective is made up of 6 people. So better hope not a single one of them sour on Mario and losing to inferior teams and his hiring and coaching malpractice.

I’m a canes connection member and I’m a member because I want to make sure my program has the financial needs to be a top NIL program to get the roster needed to win big. Are you a Cane’s connection member?

This is the biggest recruiting win in Mario’s tenure, and can’t have flip.
