Highest recruiting moments we’ve ever had?

A couple had said it already, but when Arthur Brown chose us it felt like a big moment. Both because we landed a 5-star from outside of South Florida, and knowing that likely made us the favorites for his brother.

Runner-up for me would be getting Ray Ray Armstrong during the UA AA Game. He exploded up the rankings at the end from what I remember, and it felt like he could be a program-changer.
Ah, Arthur Brown, the king of the doghouse. Not even sure what this dude did wrong to not get a chance to ball out here.

I would like to know, also. I always thought he played pretty well when he got his chances. Was this a case of Randy just having a problem with him for no reason? I'm not trying to dog on Randy here, but with each passing year, we seem to hear another story of how he mishandled a player due to no fault of the player. Perhaps somebody a little closer to the program can fill us in.

Lots of people were trying to compare Ray Ray to Sean Taylor. Which was a stretch to say the least… He was a good prospect though.

Same for Willie Williams who had wayyy more talent than Arthur Brown.
WW was the best prospect we ever signed IMO. That includes DJ Williams…

Had he came a few years prior and played for Butch things would’ve played out very differently. He’d have been well on his way to Canton…

The 2008 class was so overrated everyone should have noticed from day 1 that really wasn't a number 1 class. Out of 32 commits 13 were WRs and LBs. Really no point in signing 7 wrs when not even close to 7 can play. Same goes for LB.

SIAP; IIRC DJ Williams, Seantrel Henderson a,d Ryan Moore were the #1 recruits in the nation in their respective years. KW was #1 or #2. Willie Williams was huge news as well.....IIRC Jammi Germann was the fastest thing since sliced bread.

I disagree I think they weren’t developed property. Most of the guys were absolute ballers in high school. Under a better staff they could’ve been special…

Ryan Moore wasn’t #1 overall. He was a Top5-10 National guy. Some services might’ve had him as high as 3 overall others didn’t even have him as the top WR. He was a great prospect though.

DJ Williams along with Jessie Armstead are the only guys I know that were consensus #1 prospects we signed. Jammi German was up there but I believe Ron Powlus (QB Notre Dame) was #1 overall his year. Seantrel, KW and WW were all close top2-3.

For some of the older guys on here. I don’t know how rankings worked back this far but I’ve heard rumors Freddie Miles was ranked ahead of Herschel Walker…

Just checked 24/7 and you are correct they had Seantrel 2 and KW, WW and Ryan Moore were 3......... the year DJ was #1 Brock Berlin was #2
