Highest recruiting moments we’ve ever had?

SIAP; IIRC DJ Williams, Seantrel Henderson a,d Ryan Moore were the #1 recruits in the nation in their respective years. KW was #1 or #2. Willie Williams was huge news as well.....IIRC Jammi Germann was the fastest thing since sliced bread.
Ryan wasn't #1...Jammi was National HS Player of the yr....here's Jammi (#9) as a HS Senior at Ft Myers HS.

Just checked 24/7 and you are correct they had Seantrel 2 and KW, WW and Ryan Moore were 3......... the year DJ was #1 Brock Berlin was #2
Yeah 247 was using complied rankings for those older guys. Rivals was king back in those days.

Old school rankings were made by guys like Tom Lemming and Max Effeminger or however you spell his name. Then you had USA Today, SuperPrep and parade All-American teams/awards.

I believe Jammi German was the National defensive player of the year but came here as a WR. Kenny Phillips was also National defensive player of the year but he wasn’t the #1 overall recruit. DJ won National DPOY and Brock Berlin was the OPOY. Prior to 2000 it’s hard to find out who the consensus #1 guys were because there wasn’t sites like 247 to do it obviously.

If social media had been a thing back in those days we likely would’ve lost out some recruiting battles with some local guys that went under the radar nationally. Butch grabbed all those guys along with the top known guys and formed a super team. Sean Taylor would’ve been a #1 overall 0.9999 ATH recruit in todays world like Travis Hunter was. Back then he went to a small school Gulliver and didn’t blow up in recruiting till his Senior year.
