We just signed the #1 class in the ACC and a the #7 class nationally. I would put this class as the best in recent memory at least a decade. Had Cormani stuck it out we’d have a Top5 class.
What’s the best recruiting moments of all-time you guys can remember? It can be a class as a whole or individual signings/commitments.
Cormani? ****, if Reid Mikeska had stuck it probably would have been a top 5 class. Connor Lew 100%. That's how close it is between #'s 4 to 7.
Or if the services hadn't deliberately sandbagged our rating by downgrading our kids wherever they could we'd probably still be as high as #4 with who we have.
The tiers this year, IMO:
Atmospheric: Alabama
Elite+: UGA
Elite: Texas
Excellent: OK, OSU, LSU, Miami
Very, very good: Oregon, TENN, ND, Clemson
Good: USC, PSU, UF, TAMU
Ok: USCe, AUB, MICH, TCU, FSU, UT, ARK, Mich St, NEB, Miss St.
If Cormani had signed we'd be in the Texas category IMO.
The teams in each tier are pretty interchangeable. And of course the 10th best class can end up better than the 3rd best class in the end. D$ said the staff feels like they don't have a single regret with this class so far, so that's encouraging.
This is for just HS recruiting, of course. And it doesn't take into consideration how a smaller, and lower rated class can be of higher quality than a bigger class, etc. or what a program's ceiling or floor should be.
