Henry Parrish wins Nat Moore trophy

True, but you can still tell a lot by the way he set up his blocks and always picked the right hole to run through on Saturday, regardless of competition. I love what he brings, but I think Knighton will be housing a few behind the holes this OL will be opening up this year. It would've been tough to find a worse running scheme for a back like him to play in than what Lashlee ran last year...his best is definitely yet to come.

May I give u some stats, bro?

2021, Lashlee as OC vs. CCSU

Cam Harris:
10 rushes 100 yrds (10 ypc) 2 TDs (long of 51)

Thad Franklin
7 rushes 88 yrds (12.6 ypc) 1 TD (long of 31)

Cody Brown
14 rushes 77 yrds (5.5 ypc) 2 TDs (long of 16)

3 players:
31 rushes 265 yrds (8.5 ypc) 5 TDs

2016, Richt as OC vs. FAMU

Mark Walton:
15 rushes 116 yrds (7.7 ypc) 1 TD (long of 37)

Gus Edwards:
7 rushes 106 yrds (15.1 ypc) 1 TD (long of 74)

Joe Yearby:
7 rushes 105 yrds (15.0 ypc) 2 TDs (long of 64)

3 players:
29 rushes 327 yrds (11.3 ypc) 4 TDs

2015, James Coley OC vs BCU

Mark Walton:
10 rushes 85 yrds (8.5 ypc) 1 TD (long of 17)

Trayone Gray:
8 rushes 77 yrds (9.6 ypc) 1 TD (long of 33)

Joe Yearby
6 rushes 40 yrds (6.7 ypc) 1 TD (long of 25)

3 players:
24 rushes 202 yrds (8.4 ypc) 3 TDs

Miami rushing ranks to finish the season

2021:
-97th in rushing

2016:
-93rd in rushing

2015:
-117th in rushing

So, when I see Parrish go for 114 at a 7.7 clip, or Thad go for 78 on a 8.7 clip, or some walk ons go for 2 TDs avg. 7.2 a clip, I’m sorry; that doesn’t say to me Thad is the new Gore or Parrish is the best RB we have.

We played a poorly coached BCU team, where the coach was making dumb decision after dumb decision, after dumb decision when his team actually had us wobbly in the 1st half. We played a team that was happy for the payday. The overreaction after a FCS game is typical, but we’ve been down this road. Go to the Richt regime, & u’ll find me in there also overhyping game 1 vs. FAMU from the scheme, to the ST play, etc.

Am I saying this is deja vu? No; fact is Mario is the best coach we’ve had since the early 2000’s. However, trying to dissect every nuance from a raggedy FCS opponent is not wise. We’re next going to play a bottom tier G5 program who’ve won a total of 6 games in 2 yrs.

What we need to do is wait & see where we r come week 3, then & only then can we have a proper assessment of this team.

The stats definitely show similarities between this regimes game 1 vs an FCS type opponent. The difference this time however is none of those other games our o line was able to dominate & impose our will like we did Saturday. Even the backups. We need to see more, a lot more, but the physicality upgrade was apparent to me.

Brother; yes they did. Lol

I think as a society, in general, we live too much in the now, & 4get about the past. I often hear my grandmother say of certain events in the news, “we’ve never seen anything like this”, & then I have to pull up articles from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, early 2000’s to remind her, & she’ll always say, “****, I 4got all about that.”

Since 2016, we’ve avg. 302 rushing yards/g against FCS opponents. Saturday we had 305, so that’s right on par.

Since 2016, we’ve avg. 8.1 ypc against FCS schools; Saturday we avg. 7.3

So far against two FCS opponents, TVD & Garcia are 41/48 passing, combined. ****, J Williams & N Perry was 26/34 in their action against BCU in 2019.

What’s my point? U cannot, I repeat, cannot say this team has improved here or there after facing a BCU squad that has gone 27-28 playing in the FCS. Week 3 will tell us everything we need to know. This was & has been nothing more than an exhibition. The only thing I took away was Key Smith looked good returning The Ball. Nothing else could or would I put stock in, simply b/c history tells me it’s a FCS squad & we’ve dominated them from the L.O.S to overall game play forever.

Who cares we have our 2 horses. Enough with this kid.
