Heaps and Wyche

92nd pass rush in the country, and some idiot was trying to tell me that I was full of siht when I said the half-a$$ed "read" in the "read and react" was costing us 1-2 seconds which went to the opposing quarterback.

The "read and react" is absolutely killing us.

I understand. In what Golden was playing previously, in MAC, there were some really crappy teams he was playing, and they were highly likely to make some big mistakes during the course of a long drive. And those mistakes were his bread and butting on defense.

This is a different class of football, and our opponents don't make dumba$$ mistakes during a drive like MAC teams do. So this "bend, not break" BS is null and void.

If you have Clydesdale horses, you don't put them in the Derby. If you have a young Derby breed, you don't have him pulling stumps.

Golden can't coach because he can't take what he has, and play to their strengths. He plays to our weaknesses.

Even young pups can rush a passer - **** - they've been doing it since Pee Wee football. But oh no! We're going to have you do some of the dumbest things you've ever been asked to do, because we're stupid enough to require it, and don't know better.

The opportunities we miss just ****es me off. Stupid scheme, stupid coach.

Many of the games we win is in SPITE of our coaching.

I'm constantly echoing the same, so frustrating, I wish he'd allow these kids to do what they do best and attack

Can you show me where I said that? Before you engage me, you need to learn to read. What I said was that Duke and Dorsett do not improve our defense, which is why we lost those games.

**** your reading comprehension bull**** when you commented that Duke and Dorsett play offense and not defense to a post that said a healthy Duke and Dorsett could have lead to a better record.

Games are played on both sides of the ball. A healthy Duke and Dorsett improve the chances of moving the ball and keeping the defense off the field or scoring points and changing the complexion of the game.

The defense being poor is not news, but thanks for beating that drum in every thread.

I guess I missed all those good defensive performances when Duke and Dorsett were healthy. Now that you understand the defense is poor, maybe you'll understand why a team that regularly gives up 500 yards to even decent teams is not going 12-1 because of some offensive players.

I do believe those offensive guys have a impact on the game.
1. If Miami is playing with a lead, teams can not run the same type of offense they would normally run.
2. Running the ball well results in better ball control and clock management. This will keep the defense on the sideline and allow them to play fresh.

I understand that the defense sucked beyond belief, but there were several guys in the 2 deep last season that were simply not BCS caliber players. I truly believe that with better players we will see a totally different defense this season.

Of course you truly believe that. But of course you're also discounting the fact that we are going to be starting kids who couldn't beat out the likes of Shayon Greene and Kacy Rodgers.

Second, this defense has sucked ever since Shannon's leftovers started leaving the team. No matter who is on offense. What you're saying sounds nice in theory, but Miami was not a ball control team. Miami was a quick-strike offense in 2013. According to this article, UM's average scoring drive was 2:16. That was before the Duke and Dorsett injuries. So having Duke and Dorsett isn't going to keep other teams off the field. They were both big-play guys. Having them was going to put the other team right on the field.

Third, the type of offense they would normally run does not matter because if teams have to come back from a deficit, they would just play a hurry up, pass oriented offense. Miami had the 92nd ranked pass offense in the country. http://www.cfbstats.com/2013/leader/national/team/defense/split01/category02/sort01.html

So forcing teams to pass more is not good news. In fact, it's even worse.

You seem to be missing the point. We were a terrible ball control offense because we failed to utilize the RB's in the passing game. Duke caught FOUR PASSES in EIGHT GAMES, he should be catching 4 per game. The Louisville game the defense played great for 1st quarter and half but with ZERO OFFENSE they wore down against a quick strike offense. Our defenses worst enemy as the year progressed was our lack of ball control offense. We were a quick strike offense because our OC didn't know how to use his weapons and help a mediocore defense.

What I see is that last years roster was pretty stacked too w a veteran QB and backup. Problem isn't offense. For the billionth time, Al. Brazeera's defense is the problem. Talent at this point is not the issue. We got embarrassed by 3 teams w less talent last year 2 because our defense will always fcking suck under Al Brazeera. LVille was a full team meltdown. Does our defense getting its sht pushed in about 8 times last season not indicate it's the forking Corch?!
