Hasselwood update

It won't last in future years when he doesn't win. A&M is a bunch of nobodies.
One thing I wont do is count Jimbo out. He battled and beat all of those schools you mentioned in Trailerhasse. Now he's basically in Houston AND in the SEC.

Also, I see Jimbo getting fired from Texas A&M. He has to fight for recruits against Texas, OU, and LSU. Not to mention playing in the SEC West. A&M just isn't as good of a brand as most other schools in the West.

Jimbo recruited nationally for the better part of his tenure. He always had to recruit against SEC schools while at FSU - Auburn, Bama, UGA, and LSU....and won a good portion of those battles.

Jimbo's always been known as a good recruiter. And he'll likely have that program on the cusp of 9-10 wins, with an occasional win against Bama. A&M fans love Jimbo.

I hope you are just saying all this just to get clicks on here and don’t seriosly believe most the stuff you’ve said in this thread.Cause man if you believe what your saying with all due respect ,you have no clue what’s going on or at least believe in Santa Claus.

If you don’t believe Bama is dropping bags I’ll be happy to take you for a drive the next time your in La. and in my area.We can go to Amite and take a look at the new house of a mom of a WR that signed with them last year.I also know of several LSU recruits that have gotten many “ perks” as you call them to the tune of no show jobs for the family, mortgages paid off,new autos etc.that run up in the 6 figures

The whole SEC is throwing money around like it’s Mardi Gras beads and Miami has little chance of competing against the size of some of the “perks” as you call them.

Again no disrespect it’s just that I know for certain that it is ,was and continues to happen.

Jimbo also recruited against Richt at UGA, McElwain at Florida and Golden at Miami. Jimbo won't get the wins he got at FSU and he won't pull near as many from South Florida.

Texas A&M is the most valuable college football program in the nation according to Forbes. Jumbo will be fine there.

If he is getting paid then he has not told anyone. None of the good in-state sources are reporting they believe Haselwood is getting paid. OU doesn't have a history of pulling players from Georgia, so if Haselwood is getting paid, why didn't they pay any other Georgia player?

Forget about bags for now. Until we are not a dumpster fire, they are meaningless to us. Could well be Haselwood didn’t get paid, but who would choose to play in our offense vs, Oklahoma right now? Maybe he used us as a stalking horse to get paid. Maybe he used us as a stalking horse to deflect attention from not going to the home town team. Or maybe he really wanted to come here but realized he’d be crazy to choose us over the best offense in the country. Doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, he would be crazy to choose to play for an offense in the bottom 10th percentile in D1.

.

Most of the benefits come after a recruit is in town and they use their celebrity status to get perks. Miami is no different than any other school in this.
You're so wrong with this it isn't even funny. Where are you even getting this from? Bags isn't some internet myth based on sour grapes. This is a multi billion dollar industry with cash flying around left and right for these schools with millions invested per year to put the best product on the field at any cost.

I'll take the under on everything you just wrote. Adjusters and cynics are almost always wrong. I'll stick with that big picture reality and apply it to any endeavor.

The mindset that believes bags dictate everything is the same mindset that looks at an 8-4 team and asserts that we are two recruiting classes away.

Your wrong man I know you know football and are Dmoney’s boy but Jimbo and aTm are about to eat in the near future. Bags play a huge role in recruiting saying other wise is just wrong I’m sorry but IV been around big time D1 recruiting long enough and am friends with major recruiting players down here and simply know the facts yea Miami hasn’t had the best product on the field but acting like bags don’t make a difference is just plain wrong

This is selective reasoning to fit your narrative. In 2017, Jimbo pulled 5 stars from Texas, IMG, VA, and MS. He also went into south Florida and got the top corner (Stanford Samuels).

.Jimbo is an underachiever. Other than their NC year those FSU teams under performed. He's an Elite recruiter but in terms of coaching he aint Saban, Urban or Dabo there's a wide gap between him and them. a&m will be fine in terms of recruiting but I doubt they'll ever be true players in the sec consistently.

Once a coach starts winning big, people expect them to be Saban or else they're overrated. For years, "clemsoning" became a verb because Clemson couldn't win big games. Now, Dabo is a level above Jimbo despite Jimbo winning a ring in his 4th year compared to Dabo's 8th year.

Jumbo isn’t a great coach but an amazing recruiter. He always did less with more talent then 99% of college football. And Dabo is a glorified cheerleader who didn’t get it right till the right staff was in place. Basically two great car salesman with a good staff to keep it all together. It’s doesnt matter what either of these two were selling they would be good at it.

Miami would benefit from guys like Jimbo and Dabo who are elite recruiters. I like Dabo more than Jimbo because of Clemson’s strong culture. Calling him a glorified cheerleader is depreciating what he does.

He had the foresight to hire Chad Morris who only had 1 year of college experience after a 6-7 season. He helped convince Brent Venables to leave a championship head coach, Bob Stoops. 7 years later, these two moves are still having ripple effects on college football. Maybe even forced Stoops to retire early.

He hired the right assistant coaches. He promoted the right assistant coaches. A head coach is akin to a principal. Their best attribute doesn’t need, and shouldn’t be, their ability to teach their players or call plays

Brent Venables left because bob stoops hired his brother as co defensive coordinator. But I agree 100 percent we need a salesman. The even sadder part is we have one but he is too stubborn to put a legit staff together who can run this team while he sells the program.

Aaaaaannnnd, he didn’t hire his 23 year old son to coach QBs

He's not going to have to go into South Florida as much. Richt recruited great at UGA. It's clear that he had more financial resources behind him.

Jimbo also has cache as a coach that he carries in with him. His results this year refute that he's not going to have a modicum of recruiting success.

Yeah? Give it 3 years and let’s see.
