Has your "fanhood" been thouroughly tested?

Is this current period the worst it has ever been?

I've been a serious fan since the beginning of the decline (2003). I only know frustration and disappointment as a Canes fan. This may never change.

What's to be tested -- either root for the team or get the **** out of here and root for someone else -- but don't come back if you leave.

The team has been thoroughly frustrating, but not nearly as frustrating to me as the fans who pound their chests about being a Cane, but then turn on other fans instead of trying to find a middle ground to unite behind the players and the team.

Let me ask the old timers. Is this current period the worst it has ever been?

NO!!! The 70's were much worse. They were talking about shutting down the program! 47-0 @ Choak Shambles stadium watching our QB getting bounced off the **** goal post was way worse. UVA in the last game at the OB was worse. Losing to USF anywhere..... u get the point

That loss to tenn in 03 and the 07 Virginia game stands out.... But that 94 loss to Washington stung like nothing before

Yes and no. Expectations from days of old were if the canes had a winning record and got to a bowl it was a success. The period of time when those CANES teams changed the of landscape college football were electric and took the world by shock has created unrealistic expectations in a business environment as opposed to a football environment. At the end of the day it has become about money, power and winning. JMO

Ill go to extremes to show my love for my teams. Last year at the Browns/Steelers game in CLE I told probably a 5 year old kid in steelers gear that santa wasn't real. True story haha

Being a giant douche makes you a real fan. You showed that little *******

Yes, but I don't have anything better to do so it's whatever.

I am still going to watch, go to the games and continue to love college football anyway, so I may as well hunker down and deal with it, because once the team gets back where we want it to be, it will be a **** of a lot of fun.

No. Not even close.

I think the tough part of this era is that we were at the high point of college football, and then came crashing down. Thought we hit bottom under Coker and that Randy with that #1 class was going to bring us back. Then he actually sunk us even further. Then we hoped that Golden, being an up and comer could right the ship. Then the NCAA hit. And we went even further. Fans got further divided. Then we went 7-0 and people felt we were back. We lost to FSU and lost Duke/Dorsett and Morris regressed and the season unraveled --predictably. We got our hopes up for the Bowl Game and got hammered.

Roller coaster of highs and lows and people overreact at each point. Over the last 10 years, every time we thought we broke closer to being back, we took two steps back.

Even now, the record got a little bit better each year with Golden despite all the issues and drama, but we can't believe we are on the right track because the depth still isn't where it needs to be for a run, the DL/QB is a huge question mark, and our coaching staff gives us little confidence that they are ready for a breakout.

And once we hit that ******' groove it'll flow. And it will flow, the talent's there.

This is the worse period of Miami football since we had expectations so yeah it has been hard. I am trying to determine which game to come down and see this year and logically FSU would be the answer but I am worried the season will be over by then.
