Golden's Ego

If we have a top 10 defense, we win the 'ship, cuz our offense will be nasty.

No we didn't. Not a single solid defensive performance outside of SSU and FAU. UF game was good but not flashes of greatness. They still marched up and down the field on us.

Some posters like OP are just ****in stupid. Yeah Goldens feelings are hurt so he is finally gonna field a competent defense. Idiot.

Look at beginning of bowl game and a few others the defense was holding its own......too many 3 and outs and turnovers........Watch the FILM before you blindly criticize

I saw a defense that didn't allow more than 2 points from a safety for over 3 1/2 quarters. That was a solid defense and it wasn't ours. Our defense let them march up and down and finally broke. Yes the offenses failure to convert exacerbated the situation but we didn't play solid defense in that bowl game aside from the safety we got.

Compare our defense in the first half to ULs and you will see how ****** we actually played. Great defenses don't allow teams to march up and down the field all game long hoping the opposing team will make a mistake. That's what we play and it's why an al golden defense never has and never will be great.

With that said, for all of his faults, he didn't tolerate a defense that was actually better than anything Golden/Doritos have done thus far at Miami.

He didn't tolerate it because he could fix it. I don't think Golden is capable of fixing it unless he either dumps everything he stands for and hires someone to install a new defense, or he was right all along and he just needed better players. We'll find out in a few days for sure. There absolutely must be a dramatic improvement this year.

Golden and D'Onofrio have both coordinated top 20 defenses, so they've proven they can implement what they're trying to do.

The problems have been talent and getting this particular group of players to buy in. The talent has undoubtedly improved. Let's see if things have finally "clicked."

No way we come close to a top 25 defense. I will say this though: our DBs will make some plays to carry us a little this year. Watch. Too much talent back there not to have multiple turnovers a game. They are probably our best position group besides WR
