We're starting to get the horses, randy had no one to blame for his defensive short comings, not only was the scheme the same from the time he was the coordinator, he also recruited those guys!

As crazy as it is for me to even think this out loud, Shannon would do well with the current talent on this defense, I wouldn't let him recruit, but I feel the defense would be dramatically improved.

He didn't tolerate it because he could fix it. I don't think Golden is capable of fixing it unless he either dumps everything he stands for and hires someone to install a new defense, or he was right all along and he just needed better players. We'll find out in a few days for sure. There absolutely must be a dramatic improvement this year.

We don't have the interior line talent or depth anywhere else yet to move up that much. Though I do believe we'll see a significant improvement. (30's to low 40's barring major injuries).
 
His ego is why the defense sucked for 2 years actually got worse yet his BFF is still our DC

He didn't tolerate it because he could fix it. I don't think Golden is capable of fixing it unless he either dumps everything he stands for and hires someone to install a new defense, or he was right all along and he just needed better players. We'll find out in a few days for sure. There absolutely must be a dramatic improvement this year.

No we didn't. Not a single solid defensive performance outside of SSU and FAU. UF game was good but not flashes of greatness. They still marched up and down the field on us.

Some posters like OP are just ****** stupid. Yeah Goldens feelings are hurt so he is finally gonna field a competent defense. Idiot.

That's his means of distancing himself from his pure siht defense, especially since he's said this was his defense and after all, he's a defense kind of guy.

I find his BS to consistently kick in my gag reflex.

If as much siht came out his sphincter as comes out his mouth, he'd have siht himself to death four years ago.

Wyche IMO isnt a 5 star talent and his stamina is suspect n Kamalu is a green tree AA, Moten isnt physically ready yet. If our LBs cant get free we in trouble on D

Look at beginning of bowl game and a few others the defense was holding its own......too many 3 and outs and turnovers........Watch the FILM before you blindly criticize
 
The 3 and outs on offense were demoralizing energy drains. **** near constant and unrelenting.

That is really my biggest beef with all the criticism directed at our defense. Rarely do posters acknowledge what a deficit the O put them in - time and time again.
