No, next year would essentially be his senior year.
 
yeah, next year is his last year. it's 5 years from when he started. you have 5 to play 4. your clock doesn't stop once it starts/you enroll/start the matriculation process.

This is his redshirt junior year so eh still has next year for sure

I'd be happy with Willis, ford, bethel and silvera and whoever else is back. Throw in one of McIntosh or norton and I'd be thrilled.

He definitely intends to return here in January and play in 2018 if you put the pieces together, but following through is the hard part.

Please enlighten me on Willis reasoning for not playing this year? Like what did he tell Richt for it to be okay to sit out and come back for '18?

knee isn't healed
wants some time off from school/football

"Leave of absence" is a catch-all. Might have had some emotional issues. Could be anything.

There is a stigma attached to mental illness, and rightfully so, so sometimes people don't want to cop to that sort of thing. That's pure speculation though based on past red flags in Willis's history.
 
He's never really set the world on fire in the weight room.

My hope is that he takes S&C seriously during this time off and doesn't get sawft
 
Alright I get that. So if it is that, then that makes his chances of coming back even slimmer. He's on Instagram as if he's in the NFL already. I wish the kid the best but I just don't trust him to be our leader in the DT Room
