Georgia Tech Game

Tons of longtime Floridians are moving to ATL. I've been here 3 years, I wear a lot of Miami gear, and I constantly get into conversations with people who see The U and comment.
For sure. I’m way up in Forsyth County (can see Sawnee Mountain from my front porch) and see Canes plates and gear pretty much daily. And a third of my neighborhood is Noles and Gators. We even have a good Cuban restaurant here, which I required when I bought my house ten years ago.

If you are in town, Buena Gente is LEGIT. They make their own guava jam for their pastelitos. I think they are from Hialeah.

There used to be a restaurant here in Vinings called Porch Light. Puerto Rican food. Unfortunately, they closed before @TheOriginalCane moved up, because he would have kept them in business himself. They had Miami memorabilia all over the walls, including a giant U. Andre Gomez was the chef.

Yes, someone has recommended Buena Gente to me before - not sure if it was you or another poster! I had takeout once, a while back, but I definitely need to eat in. I’m also a huge fan of Lazaro’s in Roswell.

What a bummer about Porch Light! I remember hearing about that place. Closed during COVID, right?

Adding some breweries around town as well. These are generally short Ubers from Midtown.

-Monday Night Brewing (West Midtown)
-Halfway Crooks (Summerhill)
-Wrecking Bar Brewpub (Inman Park-ish)
-Torched Hop Brewpub (Near Midtown on Ponce)
-Inner Voice Brewing (Decatur)
-Bold Monk Brewing (West Midtown)
-Realm (Inman Park, not my favorite beers, but great location)
-Scofflaw at the Works (West Midtown, connected to a food hall)
-Three Taverns Imaginarium (Reynoldstown)

Beer bars for good measure (both are world class):
-The Porter (Little 5 Points)
-Brickstore Pub (Decatur)

If you’re a brewery person, just go over to The Works and you’ve got Bold Monk, Scofflaw, Fire Maker, and Steady Hand all in walking distance.

Since it was mentioned, Breaker Breaker has good food and has a really good vibe, weather is looking nice so would be good spot imo. Also right on the beltline so a lot of good options before and after right in the area. Super close to Krog Street Market and Lady Bird which I know has come up a few times, but set off more to itself than some other places. Super casual spot if that’s your vibe.

I know you mentioned Publik Draft, just went there for the first time a few weeks ago. Nothing special, better options in the area. Just my two cents.

ok, cool, probably crossing off my list. I'm a craft beer guy and it is close to where I'm staying, thought maybe check it out but definitely looking at other places

It wasn’t awful or anything, just sort of mediocre. Also thought the beer selection was pretty weak. I’m not as familiar with the heart of midtown, we recently bought a new place and were looking primarily in Blandtown, Cabbagetown, and around Ponce so I got pretty familiar with the stuff in those areas, which all have some cool spots but aren’t right where you’re at.

Like I said, if breweries/beer are what you’re looking for The Works may be the best hub ITP. Bacchanalia is also over there if you were looking to shell out some serious money on dinner.

GT gets a bye to prepare for Miami, while also having time to get Haynes the QB back from injury.

This is the hardest regular season game we have left.

Their defense is much improved this season, and if Haynes is QB they are good offensively.

Fast fast WRs, a good OL, and a good running game.

After the Lville game, the rivarly game with FSU, and the Manny bowl, i think the GT game will be a dogfight.
