Georgia Tech Game

Oh I remember that night at the hotel, the Thanksgiving dinner, players fcking around, I knew we a Loss coming
I was at that **** game! It was like 70 degrees and sunny as ****. I was ****ed leaving Heinz with my turnover chain hoodie on being mocked by SW Pennsylvania hillbillies. I love our Canes, but I’m honest, I knew that team was a mirage. I have a bad feeling about this game, but not one that says we lose. I just think that it’s going to be another dog fight. I’ll be there, I flew in yesterday morning, saw a few other Canes in the airport. It’s about to be a takeover.

I love that so many of us are taking our kids to their first game this weekend. I trust that Cam will not be creating a bunch of GT fans.

Seats in 224 lower section, driving to ATL tomorrow morning from Greenville. Last time watching Miami live was the 2019 FSU game in Tally.
Greenville you say? I’ll need a lot to go right for me to make the game but I might see you on the highway

If anyone is driving down from Chattanooga, I'll meet you at Buc-ees in Calhoun tomorrow morning.

Logistical question: I’m flying in from MIA with the whole family [wife & 3 kids (14, 3, & 1)]. Flight allegedly lands at 11:35 pm but with American you never know. Staying in Midtown near Bobby Dowd - what’s the best way to get there at around that time? The hotel doesn’t provide a shuttle. TIA.

You are landing around midnight tonight?

I would say that your best bets are either Uber/Lyft or MARTA.

The Gold Line for Marta will be running out of the airport every 20 minutes until 1:20 am. Looks like it will get you to Midtown in 24 minutes.

POTENTIAL ROAD CLOSURES:

Per the Georgia Tech website, there are a couple of things going on that could impact road closures.

1. The "Helluva Block Party" is taking place on North Street starting at 8 am (though I heard the road closure could start at 7:30 am). This is important because it is the road JUST SOUTH of the stadium. This may require an approach to the campus that comes in from the WEST side of campus.

2. The Ramblin' Wreck Parade will be taking place on Fowler Street starting at 9 am. This would impact anyone coming in from the NORTH of the campus.

If you arrive SUPER-EARLY, you should be fine. If you arrive close to game time and/or in Uber/Lyft, you may have some issues.

I know a lot of people are parking at the Student Center, just be aware of the road issues.

If you run into any problems with Uber/Lyft, try to get to 3rd Street NW over by Spring Street, and you can take the secret tunnel under I-75/I-85. Possibly the shortest walk you can make to the stadium.

i stopped taking Uber/Lyft out of the ATL airport. Takes too long, especially at night, and it expensive AF. Grab a cab. Always available and much cheaper.

What’s the best parking nearby?

Inday, MOST of the stuff on ParkMobile (parking app that has a lot of spots in the area) is now sold out.

If you want to avoid as much traffic/road closures/hassle as possible, I would consider parking in Midtown (east of I-75/I-85) and taking the pedestrian tunnel that I posted a bit earlier. There is a lot of city-type parking over in Midtown (garages, surface lots, etc.).

You can also go back to Page 16, I posted a bunch of links there.

I think I’m just going to valet at the hotel. It’s about a half a mile walk.
