I don't know anything about the law here, but wouldn't a state institution be open to a lawsuit for not allowing the exercise of free speech? I'd think uf would win anyway on the grounds of potential violence, but still.

If everything wasn't happening in our country right now then they would be allowed to speak and you wouldn't see this much attention on it.

Yes all recruits should see what goes on in Gainesville this is common practice in that area

One of the most misunderstood things of all time - the First Amendment.

Anyhow, look at the article. He will not rent space to the *****. Not the same issue.

If there was a random dude walking around on campus talking, and the President of UF stops him, there might be a 1st Amendment issue.

But in this case, not so much.

I remember the "yelling fire in a crowded movie theatre" example from Law school. You would probably know but isn't there a public safety component balancing our free speech?

Long time lurker first time poster/subscriber! Happy to be here alongside people who love the canes football as much as me! The gators havent been relevant since 08 not sure why this thread was created but nonetheless i enjoy the classic south florida fandom on here! #Talk****ToAnyoneAndEveryone
