I think it depends. I have friends who were the biggest die hard fans for UM growing up and then went to UF and FSU and they slowly turned into UF or FSU fans. it happens. ****, that was like that at UM with some out of state kids. you end up going to games with your friends and are entrenched into the atmosphere and then you slowly start to cheer bc you dont want to be a miserable **** while all your friends are celebrating
If you drop your team just to fit in with some friends, I have to question how much of a “die hard” you were. I went to plenty of UCF games when I was in school but when Miami went to Orlando to play them back in 09 or whenever, I was wearing all Miami gear in the stands.
