If that's the case then all you have is filing a false police report. The University can choose not to prosecute for credit card fraud. Either way it still falls under impermissible benefits by the bylaws of the NCAA.I didn't practice in this area of the law but it seems like Conspiracy, Fraud and Grand Larceny or attempted Grand Larceny. They schemed to get this stuff for free and took positive steps in the commission of the crime.
Retired cop from SoFla. If you could give me the basics of the story like where the credit cards came from and whose name they were in I could peg the charges easily. I worked credit card fraud and identity theft cases for a couple years as a defective!
They were issued UF credit cards for books etc. Instead, they used them to buy all kinds of electronics at Best Buy, then reported the cards stolen so they wouldnt have to pay.
Even if they choosr not too couldn't the state pick up the charges ?
No victim no crime
