Big up tweed for providing tears to the thread he doesn't agree with. Respect lion, rastafar I.

It could possibly be false report of a crime which isn't a felony in Florida. Either the players or the university would have to report the financial cards stolen via a police report and then law enforcement could take action. Not enough information available at this point.

Florida gonna Floriduh. Who cares

I didn't practice in this area of the law but it seems like Conspiracy, Fraud and Grand Larceny or attempted Grand Larceny. They schemed to get this stuff for free and took positive steps in the commission of the crime.

Retired cop from SoFla. If you could give me the basics of the story like where the credit cards came from and whose name they were in I could peg the charges easily. I worked credit card fraud and identity theft cases for a couple years as a defective!

They were issued UF credit cards for books etc. Instead, they used them to buy all kinds of electronics at Best Buy, then reported the cards stolen so they wouldnt have to pay.
If that's the case then all you have is filing a false police report. The University can choose not to prosecute for credit card fraud. Either way it still falls under impermissible benefits by the bylaws of the NCAA.

Even if they choosr not too couldn't the state pick up the charges ?

So where are the **** Trolls? travis ?

How about the other ones with cutesy <enter name>Canes handles?

Hate to credit them but even the turds think that if it's just one game for Callaway that it's too lenient...

As someone already raised, last year, Jermaine Grace and AQM were kicked off the team for an impermissible benefit which did not involve criminal fraud. This is worse yet the justice is far less. I don't think that Grace or AQM had prior conduct issues either yet Callaway is still on the team.

To be fair, I think we were still under NCAA punishment.

We were. I thought of that after I posted but I still think that Richt either kicks these guys or at least gives them multi-game suspensions. Callaway has multiple offenses. Look what Richt did to Jovani Haskins and Sam Bruce. They're gone. Callaway has far exceeded those kids' offenses.

Richt would have probably shown Callaway the door already, but if not he most certainly would after this nonsense.

If OlePiss hasn't gotten the LOIC hammer no way this gets it.
And as long as Emmert is still at NCAA no SEC school will get it LOIC.

Didn't AQM sit out a year for beating up his roommate?
I don't recall but I'll assume he did. What about Haskins and Bruce?

Not sure where the Bestbuy stuff is coming from, but the players used their student ID's (which have funds on them) to purchase (improper use) around $1500 worth of stuff from the bookstore & then turned around and sold them for cash.

SIAP

I guess that's really the point. There's a higher standard at Miami than in Gaynesville.

Still am confused.

The stuff was paid for by the players.was it not?

Then WTF I'd UFAG going to BB and paying for the stuff again.Obviouly the CC the players used had cleared because they took the stuff and tried to sell it.

So why is UFAG paying BB again for the merchandise. Was the purchase stopped when they reported the cards stolen?

This makes more sense, but how in the world did they get caught? Or if they did, how did it get out? I would think kids have been doing this forever and not getting in trouble.

If this story is true, I imagine the police went to BB to get info on who used the "stolen" cards, and that's how it came out. uf paying BB again never made sense, the stuff was already paid for.

I believe it actually came from a gaturd fan rag.

I'll have to look it up, if I can find it.

Think of it like a company "P card" that you can only use to purchase specific items (ex: office supplies). Well they tried to use it to make purchases in unauthorized categories (probably electronics) so that they could just turn around & sell it for cash. The reason they got caught (I believe) is because they didn't have enough money on the cards and that probably red flagged whoever reconsiles the statements & realized what they were doing.

Oh it felt like raindrops....so many raindrops...well it must have been raindrops.....falling from their eyes.......falling from their eyes...

A few on here might recognize this....

You know it must be raindrops for a man ain't suppose to cry
