Tears Gator Tears

I mean, it’s not like every recruit he’s gotten is low rated, Etienne, Kamari Wilson, and Shemar James immediately come to mind, and by all accounts there is a high probability he gets Matthews and Perkins as well. Definitely a better recruiter than Mullen ever was, not that that’s saying much. Wait and see approach will be taken.

"Wait and see approach will be taken."

Yeah, whatever, Gator. Welcome to the Canes site.

You're off to a good start. A little bit of advice that I could give would be not to go too hard at this.

MOAR!

Right now the Gators class would be ranked only #21 by avg. rating, barely edging out TCU (who also had a coaching change). Miami's is in the top 5. So don't buy their "transition class/small class" excuses. Hedwig Napier inherited a MUCH better class than Mario, and was hired before him too.

Even by avg. rating, the Crocs class would only be 9th in the SEC. Even for a small class they are taking a lot of dead weight/projects/reaches.

Billy, good luck, you have a lot of hard work ahead.

"By all accounts..." @YeahWhatever's ****-covered glasses have a "high probability" of hurting his vision, but maybe this will help...

Even On3, which clearly punishes smaller classes the least, has the turds outside the top 30. They also have 7 teams with smaller classes ranked ahead of the turds, including JSU. That's because this "transition class" is full of "hidden gems" and UiF fans are working like fat bride at a trailer park wedding to convince themselves the cubic zirconia are diamonds.

Truth is, Gapier's transition class is more bottom-heavy than a pregnant Kardashian. While in Miami, Mario has taken the opposite approach with his transition class, targeting quality over everything.

I just don't get it. I can understand taking a small class after the coaching change. He's only been there a little while so expecting a premium class would be unrealistic. But why are they offering and TAKING these G5 leftover players? Is their roster so depleted that they need to take anyone they can just to field a team in 2022? I would rather take a handful of impact players and have a small class than load up on guys who aren't likely to be any good just to have a "full" class. Especially today where you can easily fill out roster holes with portal guys, committing 4 years to a guy who should probably be suiting up for a CUSA program is just dumb.

He is their Golden

He is there Golden. Is Kamari a good player? Of course. Do you know who else was a good player? Duke Johnson. Want to know what players werent?

Gray Crow
Jacoby Briscoe
D'Mauri Jones
Jontavious Carter
Taylor Gadbois
Antonio Crawford
Vernon Davis
Danny Dillard
Larry Hope
Nate Dortch
Gabe Terry
Josh Witt
Jake O'Donnell
Dequan Ivey
David Thompson

Want to know who those guys are? Those are actual UM players that committed in 2012 (same class as Duke) ranked top 500 or lower. These guys never, or rarely saw the field for a 7-5 perennial team in the ACC.

Could one of their players turn into a Njoku type find (851st ranked player)? Sure. But that is the exception not the rule and to bet on 7 or 8 hitting? Highly highly unlikely. **** if you have 7-8 4* there is still a good chance at least a few bust.

Hilarious.

So you've gone from "everyone wants to play in the SEC-SEC-SEC" and "Gaytor Standardz" to "it's not like every recruit he's gotten is low rated". Impressive.

Let's review. Per Rivals, you have 6 out of 16 recruits at a 4-star level or above. That is a Blue-Chip Ratio of 40%. 247 is slightly more generous, giving you a 7th blue-chipper, still below 50%.

You've lost 8 kids to the portal since the beginning of the 2021 season. Of your 5 transfers, 3 are from Louisiana. So not only is Gaypier bringing his G5 coaches, but his G5 players as well.

And now you are yapping about "by all accounts" you have a "high probability" to get 2 other guys.

In 2021, you went 6-7. You only won 2 SEC games, against VANDERBILT and Tennessee. Oh, but you killed it in Florida, beating FAU, USF, and F$U (and non-Florida team Samford). You lost to UCF, Mizzou, South Carolina, LSU, and Kentucky, all teams that you usually beat or should have beaten (I'll give you credit for losing to Bama and UGa).

Your QB room is in disarray. Your 5-star RB room is terrible. Your receivers are nothing special and your OL is not good. Your defense is porous at best.

But you think that a handful of high-school blue-chippers and 2 P5 transfers-in will somehow stabilize your 6-7 Titanic enough so that Gaypier will be able to reel in a Top 10 recruiting class in 2023?

This is why I love Gaytor Tears. Reading the delusions of Gaytor fans is priceless.

Sure, you just go ahead and take that "wait and see approach". What do you think you are waiting for? You didn't hire the coaches you thought you would get. You aren't getting the recruits you hoped for. You will be lucky to get to 7 wins this year. When is the Gaypier cavalry arriving and what else are you waiting for?

Thanks for porsting, though.

@flagator86 Do you recognize this guy from Swamp Gas? Are there a lot of season ticketholders in Beverly Hills?

GOOD EVENING, #TEAMGATORTEARS.

UF has SIX guys in their class that would each be the worst commitment in the Miami class. They would have EIGHT if you take Jaden Harris out of our class.

UF has FIVE commits that are ranked outside the top 1000 players. Not a typo. That's 1/3rd of their class. And 60% of those guys (3/5) aren't in the top 1500. FYI Miami has ZERO outside the top 950.

Miami has only one player outside the top 350 (90% in top 350). UF has NINE outside the top 350 (only 40% in top 350).

Miami's 2nd worst commitment (Horton, who is a 4-star) is ranked higher than EIGHT of UF's commitments.

Miami has EIGHT commitments with a 90 or better score. Which is twice as many as UF's FOUR. And we have 5 less players in our class.

So 80% of Miami's class has a 90+ score, while less than 27% of UF's class is 90+.

UF has the 13th best class in the SEC right now, even after their recent commitments. They are only ahead of Vanderbilt. They are even behind the MISS ST class which is over 90% 3-star or lower.

So since Hedwig's hiring, they've moved up exactly zero spots in the SEC rankings.

I honestly think there are four kids total in UF's class that Mario would take. Maybe only 3, even. Definitely not more than 5. Again, out of 15. So only 20-33% of UF's class is Mario caliber.

Buenos nachos.
