FSU bringing out legends for its camp

What is a Peter Warrick?

I hate FSU as much as the next man but Peter Warrick was the truth at FSU. Didnt have the long speed to stay in the NFL very long but was a great college WR. He should have won the Heisman in 99' if he had not gotten into trouble. In todays era of wide open offenses in college he would have been a terror and unguardable.

All that said, its a joke to trot him out there. If I were him I would not have gone. Using him as a puppet and having him come behind your arch rivals camp that had legit HOFers present. (Sapp, Lewis, Irvin) and other guys who more then made their mark in the league. PW should have stayed in Bradenton.

I could see Derrick Brooks, Deion, etc. The problem is, so many of their "stars" busted out in the pros.

They honestly would have been better off asking the ProNoles in the current era to come back. Guys like Jameis, Xavier Rhodes, Kelvin Benjamin, Devonta Freeman, LJoyner, Jalen Ramsey, etc..Guys within the past 3-4 years who were there and are doing pretty good in the league. In fact that is what I thought the strategy would be.

But goes to show that they cant even pull that off. I know NFL training camp start at the end of next week but Duke showed up to ours so that kills that excuse. Kids could really care less about Peter Warrick.

I believe it's an NCAA violation for active NFL players to be in contact with recruits. Duke attended the Paradise camp but had no actual interaction with the players.

Makes sense.

What happens if Brad Johnson and Casey Weldon show up in Canes gear?

Anquan Boldin would have been better, but he may still be active. Derrick Brooks, meet him at a friends BDay party just before in HOF inauguration and he's a genuine good dude. Charley Ward was phenomenal especially when you consider he went on to be a starter for the Knicks in their heyday. That being said none of these dude will excite current recruits because of the age difference. They been recruiting well, but SoFl won't be "as" fertile for them in the future.

Corey Simon may have been their best DT during their run in the 80s / 90s (out of Pompano Beach Ely)....

If I remember, he was pretty good with the Eagles, too....

He looked like a true DT - a lot of their other DTs weren't so big...

Recently they've had some good ones, though....

I hear they're all on pins and needles hoping that Thad Busby might show up. Would salvage the camp since Dan Kendra no-showed.

Charlie Ward might be more likely to show up at one of our camps before FSU's. He's extremely loyal to Richt. Might be the one of the biggests reasons Leatherwood is actually giving us a look (not matter how small it probably is) and came down here and competed a week after The Opening.

I'm as a big Miami as there can be, but I gotta give props to Kendra. Injuries killed his career, but he eventually became a Navy SEAL. I'm not sure if he's still in the Navy...but big props to anybody who puts on the uniform and serves in harm's way.

None of FSU players who are in the NFL are household names like Miami players were/are love em or hate em everybody knows Warren Sapp Michael Irvin and Ray Lewis. On top of that these guys have TV jobs and usually endorse Miami. FSU players usually flame out in the league like OSU and USC players Miami is NFL U. Paradise cannot be copied.
