Freshmen impressing

lol @ at all of that. Yea, none of it is on Whipple. Outside of the BC game, Jacory was one of the most efficient QBs in the country after only spending 6 months with Fisch last year. I'm sure it wasn't Whipple's fault when Morris and Spencer threw 4 picks between them in one half as well. It wasn't his fault that he decided to not even go for 3 on the last drive against Clemson. It wasn't his fault that UNC knew we would be looking for the deep PA pass on every other 1st down and Butch just told his safeties to play centerfield and wait for it. It's not Whipple's fault that with an entire offense returning full of juniors, he managed to only score the same amount of points per game that Nix did with a team chock full of true freshmen.

Yea Whipple had his faults but RS should have stepped in as a HC... I liked RS but even with the hiring of Whipple I felt he forfeited his respect and a bit of control over the team... I never understood how Whipple was designated/hired as the Assistant HC... Whipple had his faults but the team took dive as a whole... So many bad routes, forgotten plays, dropped passes, etc... I mean even as good as Hank was he had a lot of dropped passes... T3 had his moments as well... Once RS witnessed these things he should have stood up too Whipple but our program was a mess... The AD disregarded everything the HC forewarned him about and then ran once he sensed trouble... UM hasn't been a united program since 03...

Guys, Im no fan of Whipple's playcalling. But there were a lot of plays where the primary deep route blew the top off the coverage, and one of the other routes came WIDE open. And what happened most of the time was Jacory missed the read, or it was a throw he knew he couldn't make............. SM could make the throws but Jac.........

But so what. Whipple's job was to work with what he had, not prove he could construct an offense jim kelly could thrie in.

Whipple gave Jac a lot of simple *** reads and throws yet Jacory constantly ****ed them up, constantly did half *** play fakes and constantly under performed at QB in almost every important aspect (his on field demeanor was pathetically **** poor and was the antithesis of leadership)

Randy Shannon calling a time out during the 2 minute offense against Clemson at a crucial juncture started it or pushed things over the edge IIRC.

Too much revisionist history and football ignorance when it comes to Whipple's tenure here. He gets a very bad rap with the fan base and much of it is undeserved. Whipple was stubborn and he did possibly stop trying after a certain point which is inexcusable since he's supposed to be a professional but Jacory being **** and Randy being ****tier as a head coach was the main problem not solely Whipple.

My main point is that the base and potential for a great offense was there in Whipple regarding the schemes and his play calling. Randy Shannon and Jacory ****ed a lot of that up. Most of you are carrying on like Whipple was trash and the sole reason for the offenses struggles when he was not.

Too much emphasis is placed on Jacory's demeanor which I believe is only pointed out by the individuals who disliked him... Jaocry demenor had nothing to do with his performance... Too much stock is put into that... I though he was a good leader... I still recall VT 09 when Graham was dropping a number of key passes and Harris was the first one to encourage him... After that game we saw a renewed confidence Graham... Harris wasnt that bad of qb, to be honest the only times we scored this last year was when he audibled in went deep... Our O was never on the field long so he had to make plays... This leads me to believe he was more than capable of running Whipple's O... You cant blame everything on RS or Harris... Both had their faults but Whipple is just as guilty... And please stop mentioning his demeanor or leadership... What makes him a bad leader? When he played we always read about how he encouraged and pushed his teammates... If thats not leadership than what is? Please dont mention his twitter or fb profiles because that has nothing to do with football... Leadership is fighting through adversity and criticism while motivating your peers to do the same, which he did...

Which is why it's completely idiotic to say Jacory and Shannon forced him to be awful at his job. He sucked on his own accord. He didn't need any help. People crowned him for lighting up 2 of the worst defenses in college football that year in FSU and GT. By the time VT rolled around, he started to show very quickly that he was just a one trick pony.

"Players first, plays second." Whipple didn't give a **** and tried to force a QB, who isn't an NFL talent, to play as an NFL QB. He's an idiot.

Yea I agree... And to be fair Gt was the ACC winner and lost only 2 games before their bowl... But yea I agree... He never adjusted... I do feel that RS should have confronted him instead of having a passive aggressive attitude concerning him, but you are right... I still think that his system could have worked but our program as a whole was in shambles... The Ad never showed the coach any respect and that followed to an extent with the fans , assistant coaches and some players... But you can't place blame on anyone but culprit... Whipple underachievement was his fault... He wanted to be a HC and felt he was more qualified than RS... That only hurt him...
