Forston

First off, I think Forston was going to have a great year before he got hurt in 2011. He had finally dedicated himself with a diet and working out properly.

Second, sometimes when you have a lot of bad experiences in a place moving on is the best thing for you. All the injuries, the program crumbling under Shannon's regime, etc. It all takes its toll on you eventually.

Sure he didn't have anywhere near the career we thought he would have at UM. I still hope he is able to make the Patriots squad and have a productive NFL career. I think I read where Wilfork had taken him under his (massive chicken) wing and was mentoring him. Great guy to learn from

A ton of talent went undeveloped or wasted during the Randy Reign of terror, and the later years of Coker.

These kids weren't pushed, at all, as evidenced by half of them failing AGs conditioning test (the same one that Temple level athletes were passing), and the paltry weight room numbers.

THAT is why you had kids do nothing here and then ball out in the NFL where they were actually pushed and finally developed physically.

This is the first offseason in like 10 years where our kids look like they developed.

I love Forston. I was ****ed that him and those other guys decided to leave instead of stay and make sure the torch was passed properly to the new guys. but hey, they have goals and aspirations too. For a guy like forston, it may have been better for him to just go ahead and carve his own space out in the league instead of possibly suffering another injury coming back to play at UM. I wish Forston and the other guys the best, hope they kill it in the league!! Cane 4 Life!!

Fark u, u monocle wearing SOB. I bite my thumb at U!

Again, I don't know where all this business about him not caring is coming from.

He played very well as a true freshman in 2008

Played in three games in 2009 before having shoulder surgery

Had 37 tackles, 12 TFL, 3 sacks, and an INT in 13 games in 2010

Played 3 games in 2011 before getting injured and missing the rest of the season

You guys are free to have an opinion, but I'm just telling you that you're wrong.

He just didn't want to put in the work required by the new regime.

There's no proof to back this up. Golden himself praised Forston for putting in the work. Just because he left a year early doesn't make him a scumbag.

I think he put in the work....peeps just automatically thought he was being lazy or scared of Golden's plan....HE WASNT....as he wore a BLACK JERSEY basically the WHOLE TIME Golden was here...and Golden praised the kid.

Forston just had it in his head to go pro...he had it the year before...and once he got his degree i knew it was a formality. Not every player is the same..Forston is a dude actually from the PROJECTS. He wasnt Spence, Jacory, Streeter. He actually is from LIBERTY CITY.

He could of come back a year...but i aint gonna hold that against em....During his recruitment dude was Duke Johnson-esque aind i will always respect him for that...he was all cane.

Couldn't say it any better. At the end of the day he got everything he wanted here which sucks cause out of all the kids that left early I thought he was the one we needed the most to stay.

But when you have your degree in hand. Have had two season ending surgeries and you know your best shot is in the nfl cause you can't afford another injury go make your money and help your family till that dries up and ride the **** out of your degree after that dust settles

Well he got in NCAA trouble part of the group causing the NCAA cloud and then bailed early when it wasn't even in his best interest and compounded the NCAA cloud damage. He did no favors for the U while he was here.

Perhaps water under the bridge but it isn't like people are against him out of nowhere. At this point, the better he does, the better it is for The U now for reputation so bygones be bygones.

You know what and I'm telling you you're wrong. Those stats? Are you ******* kidding me? Those stats for his defense? Those are the stats that prosecute the **** for being lazy and uncommitted. You've officially gone off the reservation for protecting the old regime and players that you were around and feel loyal to. I get that you saw those guys sweat and grunt. But for someone that calls half our fanbase delusional, Rok you're the one being delusional here.

These guys weren't putting in the work and commitment. And just because you delivered their water does not make it ok for you to defend their lazy and underperforming habits and ways.

And the reason people are upset is because of the statement above my last post. He left when it was convenient for him bc of his NCAA troubles. He ****ed up with Shapiro and wanted out quickly and left "his school" in a mess with bull**** and an absent hole in the middle. If he would've been productive and deserving of a draft pick, NOT ONE ******* INTELLIGENT FAN WOULD'VE BEEN UPSET WITH HIS MOVE. NOT ONE. But let's not act like he balled out and earned a draft pick. He didn't . He ran and ran quickly bc of his mess that he left the U to clean up.

You new U fans.... SMH .... Some of the posters on here really need to change their pads.... Amazing how sensitive you are... Trying to figure out how did his decision affect you?.... This guy comes from a huge family and all of them grew up in the beans.... Money was an issue why would he stay and risk another injury and mess his stock up more?....

Well if money was an issue he made a fail in the long game and even the relatively short (1year) game. I think the real reason he left was NCAA cloud he helped cause. I mean his $ long term will certainly most likely be bigger than most on this board but he would have likely been drafted higher if he played last year.

And how does it effect us? Are you actually asking that question on a Miami Hurricanes message board? It effected the team did it not? Did you see King and Ivery out there last year at DT? lol

Either way like i said we should root for him now because the only thing he can do for the U now is help our rep by balling out and destroying people.

"Mess his stock up more?"

What stock? He went from a 5 star defensive tackle to an afterthought. Yes, injuries played a part, but, like Aldarius, his problem was being a me guy.
I cheer for all Canes in the league. My favorite team is always the one with the most Canes on it.
Forston made practice squad money for a year. If he would have stayed and worked hard to get better he would have had a much better chance to actually make a roster and collected at least the league minimum, so his decision probably cost him over 100k in the long run.

Just a bad decision, for him, his family and for the university that had already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in him for very little in return.

Not sure where you guys think he is going to be playing a lot at NE...he played about 20+ plays thursday night with ZERO tackles....he still looks uncomfortable out there but should make the roster with the depth issues they are having.....
As for love or hate...I have no fight its this mans decision to what was best...was I upset when all these guys bailed yes...that just being selfish on our part...odds are stacked heavy on him, he will be a better man when he pulls it off and has a nice career in the NFl...thats what WE all want for ANY young man

People knocking Marcus just to promote their own selfish agendas. Happened on canesport circas 2007-2009, happened on Grassy too many years to count, and know I see the same things going on here.

We love to have revisionist memory on this board.

its not that they left for the nfl, but the way they left... these niggaz acted like they were all stars or some ****...
