For those that care, Forston has a pretty good opportunity with the Pats this season. New England is pretty thin at the position and he's already in the 2 deep at DT after spending last season on the practice squad.
I wish the kid luck, but another kid that had no business entering the draft when he did.

I understand why people say that considering we had to play so many freshmen last year and it showed in our Win/Loss record but I, for one, am glad those bad seeds left. It allowed this team to be one year ahead of what we all expect the team to become.

Guy gets a lot of undeserved hate

Well we needed him last year and he left to go sit on someone's practice squad. Very un-Cane like thing to do but I don't wish any ill will towards him but I would not say his hate is undeserved either. In the end this might work out better for both sides.

I said it in another thread, but he's not even the most disappointing 5 star player from his high school. He's on like page 7 of the list of players from that class I have hate for.

Why do u think that?

What exactly did he do wrong? He didn't live up to our expectations mainly because he couldn't stay healthy. Decided to go pro after graduating in four years. What is everyone so spiteful about?

I agree with this. Before he got injured, the Don praised his work ethic and he was poised for a big year. He made a short-sighted decision to leave, no doubt, but I have a hard time blaming any of those kids given the lack of coaching and direction they received while at Miami.

I kinda agree. I'm just wondering your opinion...my question isn't intended to start anything. I think he suffered injuries here and that hurt his game. I would hold against him he left too early too.

If he balls out in New England, people will be back on his jock.

I disagree. For all of the high praise and accolades Sapp got, he is still one of the most hated Canes. People respect the Canes that put in the hard work regardless if they end up a great player in the NFL or a JAG.

Forston had the potential to be great, and still does, as he showed out in the Notre Dame game in the Sunbowl. He just didn't want to put in the work required by the new regime.

Out of all the guys who left early he is the one who wouldnt surprise me if he pulled an "Antonio Dixon" on us. Basically pop up out of nowhere and be a solid player for a team. He has the natural ability. The question is how bad does he NOT want to go back to MNW and use that degree to be the Dline coach for the ftball team as opposed to making millions in the NFL.

And I too thought this kid was a sure thing. People said he didnt play hard every snap in HS but **** what 5 star DT does? When he really wanted to play he was a beast in HS. Shame it didnt translate at UM.

There's no proof to back this up. Golden himself praised Forston for putting in the work. Just because he left a year early doesn't make him a scumbag.

Rollin with rok on this one. We have the most sensitive fan base ever. Dude didn't pan out but didn't get in a lot of trouble and even if he was a little lazy under the old regime, if the light has come on, good for him. The guy isn't hurting the Miami reputation by playing well. If he balls out and throws the U up on his MNF appearances, isn't that another notch in the belt of the school? Be happy for the guy instead of acting like scorned lovers (or Hurricanes fans).

I don't hate him. I just think he underperformed here. I think he'd admit he didn't realize his potential. He didn't commit himself. Whether that was his fault or a product of the culture at the time, it still led to the same result. When he did commit himself because it was a contract year, he got hurt. Then he made a poor decision to leave early. There's no real hate in that. Just disappointment.

Stop being contrary for the sake of being contrary for once. He ran away from Utough and Miami when they needed him to go undrafted.

Again, I don't know where all this business about him not caring is coming from.

He played very well as a true freshman in 2008

Played in three games in 2009 before having shoulder surgery

Had 37 tackles, 12 TFL, 3 sacks, and an INT in 13 games in 2010

Played 3 games in 2011 before getting injured and missing the rest of the season

You guys are free to have an opinion, but I'm just telling you that you're wrong.
