The great thing about South Florida recruiting is there is alway the next cycle for us to get excited about only to be left at the alter again.

Rinse and repeat. The NCAA and SEC are killing college football as you see how ticket sales for the championship game are awful and the ratings last week sucked.

Today wasn’t about individual coaches “whiffing.” It was about a program that needs to regain its respect on the field.

Who was Mullen's recruiter at Indiana? How about Nunn's ag Syracuse? How about Brown's at Minnesota or Solomon's at Michigan? If we got a reputation to get back, how come our DC the last 3 years isnt responsible for that. In 3 seperate years weve gotten one CB for the cycle... thats whiffing when you croot in SoFL.

First time I knew bags were involved was when I was in the office listnenig to Shannon try to get Dwayne Bowe to Miami. James Coley was main bag handler and got Bowe to LSU and Saban. We did not have a top 5 type Defense. We played the 2nd worst FBS in college football. Anytime we faced a decent offense LSU, GTech, Wisconsin with a running game we get slaughtered. Two of those teams ran for 300+ yards and threw thew the ball less than 15 times. Defense was waaaaay overrated.

Did you factor in no punting game or offense into your equation!

The fact that we can't flip kids from the first 3 schools you named is the problem, and for me, more relevant right now than the bags. If we cant convince kids going to those schools to come play at Miami, then we're way out of it against Bama and UGA, regardless of bags.

FSU’s class is a huge disappointment. A new coach usually signs a great class his first full cycle. Richt was 11th and even that was a letdown.

I hope your right about that second year bump and manny gets a top 5 class next year. But without using that as an excuse we looked better then FSU and kept our whole defensive staff. We should be out recruiting them on the defensive side of the ball(dent) at the very least. Our staff has to stop being the nice guy and show the kids we have control of the situation not the other way around. Players should be begging to play for a top 5 defense(we had inferior talent compared to teams ranked above us) yet we can’t land the Bogles Stevenson’s or Dents of the world. Things have to change(keep star talent home) starting with the new coaching staff and next years recruiting class.

This, **** if we played in the Atlantic division we wouldnt be top 5. Syracuse and Clemson both would put up 28 plus on this D. But at least they did what they were supposed to do against weak comp unlike the offense
