2025 Flip Watch 2.0 Fong "Mario Cristobal Has Been Relentless and Miami is Going to be Swinging a Big Spatula" (2025 Version)

C’mon Mario…swing that big spatula (and a lot of our NIL pool) at the recently decommited Julian Lewis!

***Full disclosure, at no time during his recruiting process has Lewis indicated an interest in the U.

@DMoney reveals the flip list has expanded and other critical flip news in the November 19, 2024 Bank.

- I've been talking about six "battleground recruits" that will make or break this finish. Expand the list to seven- Miami is in the mix for WR Dallas Wilson (Oregon commit).
- The Canes continue to position themselves to flip LB TJ Alford (Vero Beach) from Ohio State.
- A week ago, it looked like Ohio State was in a good position to retain DT Jarquez Carter (Newberry). Miami has made up significant ground there and is a real threat to flip.
- There is a growing belief that ATH DJ Pickett (Riverview) will not sign with LSU. I expect this to be the most highly publicized battle down the stretch and the Canes have many things working in their favor.
- The Canes will continue to fight for CB Ben Hanks (Booker T) and WR Vernell Brown (Orlando) but those are tough battles. Miami also really likes LB Kellen Wiley (Seffner, FL).

Preach Mario let’s go

My type of coach man, if you can’t recruit gtfo
Talent wins natty’s
Indeed talent with development wins nattys. Most of the bama and Georgia title teams fielded high ceiling defensive talent and offensive talent. Like for bama from 2018 to 2020 they had at wr jeudy devonta waddle ruggs metchie you don't need a cam ward if you have a receiving core like that.

Them dudes came in talented, you didn’t even have to coach them they knew every route tree. A lot of them just tell them run straight and I’ll throw it lol

Addae was landing 5 stars at UGA, or at least got the credit as the primary recruiter.
Mario does that here he carry’s a lot of position coaches. He does need help though you can’t be the closer and be the only one carrying the bag. Kirby at UGA is the closer so a lot of hunters will always receive the credit by fans. I always credit Mario cause I know these kids would not come here if it were Manny with the same staff. They just would not

How did Clemson, LSU, UGA, Michigan win the nattys?

Anyone here think Dabo, Ed O, Kirby are all genius football minds that scheme it up? Or was it because they had:

Trevor Lawrence
Deshaun Watson
Joe Burrow
Jamaar Chase
Jordan Jefferson
Christian Wilkens
Dexter Lawrence
Brock Bowers
Nkobe Dean
Jalen Carter
Nolan Smith
Travon Walker
Jordan Davis
George Pickens
Tyson Campbell
Travis Etienne
A.J. Terrell
Tee Higgins
J.J. McCarthy
Kris Jenkins
Mason Graham
Will Johnson

Talent means much more than Coaching to win at the highest level.

People can be fooled in job interviews. Even Saban hired guys like coach Kul who do **** on the trail and then proceed to get escorted out the building by security when they find out.

I get it. For how much importance Mario puts on recruiting, I figured he would be able to sniff out a coach like Addae that was BS’ing during the interview.

I’ve been pleased with Mario’s position coach hires at Miami. I still think he can do a lot better at the coordinator spots

What about Xs and Os?

A head coach either needs to be good at recruiting and offensive/defensive schemes or a recruiting and player development.

You just can’t be good at one singular thing as a head coach
