So yes a 2 loss bama team should be over smu because they are the better team. Nobody who complains about it would actually pick smu to beat bama

And just before the games were played, nobody would think Vandy beats Bama, and 80% of non-Tennessee fans would say Bama beats Tennessee.

But those games were played. And here we are. If SMU beats Bama 25% of the time they play, then they could beat Bama this year (just like the two aforementioned teams playing in Tennessee did).

The actual results of the actual games have to matter at some point.

Vandy has been good this year, nobody would pick them because its vandy and bama had just beat uga

Also Tennessee has been a more complete team than bama all year and is a bad matchup for them. If we just go off name then yea but football wise its pretty clear

And the games do matter, thats the point im making…All wins and all losses aren’t equal, they have to watch the games and not just follow whatever the result was

Tennessee has been up and down all year. Nearly lost to UiF. UiF nearly beat UGA. If Tennessee is good, UiF is good, UGA is good?

Vandy beats VT. If Vandy is good, does that mean VT is better than pollsters believed?

My point is it all becomes insanely subjective if you think your eyes are better than the win/loss column.

Yes

Yes

All of it is subjective but..I don’t think its as subjective as u think. You stated examples why looking at the game and not just results have to be factored in.

People shame the quality loss thing but its reality imo. I think at some point it has to go beyond just the records because with 12 teams plus conference realignment you’re gonna have teams with harder schedules than others.

Dont they do it that way in college basketball? They layout your quality wins and who u lost to, to decide if u make the tourney?
