First AP Poll released

look at all those **** SEC teams. Now they done made the dumb *** SEC network where CFB fans can't even watch a SEC game unless we have that channel. For instance week 1 I wanted to see TAMU vs USCe and can't even watch it because I don't have the network. I'm not paying extra for no BTN, SECN, or PAC12N games. Which means I'm stuck with whatever comes on the news stations and ESPN huh.

Wemgotmall the way up to 6 last year and still sucked. Idgaf about preseason hype just ******* play some defense and win. 10 wins or bust. This team is experiencedmand has pro talent all over the place. No more excuses.

I find it funny that we complain about teams like UNC, Ole Miss or whoever else being overrated, but going into Golden's fourth year at Miami we haven't shown enough to even get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to these rankings.

UNC and Ole Miss must've shown some level of talent and competent coaching that media and coaches rank them while we're barely scratching a top 35 ranking. It's pathetic and an indictment on the this staff.

So you're giving Golden props for beating a more talented team on the road? I'd knew you'd come around.

Again. Where did I say UNC was more talented than us? I said they've shown enough talent and competent coaching to warrant a top 25 pre-season ranking. Whereas our combination of the two has us unranked heading into the season.

So I guess the night we beat them they didn't show enough talent and competent coaching. Gotcha.

You can't be this ******* stupid.

Looks like we would be about #39 behind FSU (1), Nebraska (22), UNC (23), Duke (29), Louisville (31), VT (34).

Others receiving votes: UCF 94, Florida 87, Texas 86, Duke 71, Iowa 68, Louisville 48, Marshall 41, Oklahoma State 37, Virginia Tech 26, TCU 23, Mississippi State 22, Michigan 19, Texas Tech 19, Miami (FL) 16, Cincinnati 15, Boise State 10, Oregon State 10, Northwestern 8, Byu 8, Penn State 5, Vanderbilt 2, Navy 2, Nevada 1, Louisiana-Lafayette 1, Utah State 1

No disrespect but I never understood this thinking?

There should be no rankings until after week 4. This way you aren't immediately rewarded (or punished) for playing cupcakes, you have gotten into some conference play and you generally would have a month's body of work to assess and analyze.

It wouldn't solve all problems but I I think it would be an improvement over the current system that unfairly anchors end of the year outcomes before a single snap has occurred.

I would just rather be underrated at the beginning of the year opposed to overrated. To me it just gives them more motivation and sense of accomplishment. I mean, I personally understand why we arent ranked. We have had a **** defense for the past how many years now? And going into this year, especially in the medias eyes, we have no one at QB. We lost our experienced QB from the year before to the NFL/graduation, lost our highest experienced QB due to injury, we've suspended the next most experienced QB b/c he feels he can do what he wants (experienced as far as working within our team and our offense), and now we are down to a 5th year transfer QB who has been benched at two different schools vs an unproven true freshman. With those circumstances, I would like them to earn a ranking and prove people wrong instead of "Hey, you guys are Miami...here's a #XX ranking". Now, do I think some of those teams deserve the ranking they got? No. But all the better for us when we surprise everyone and those teams don't.

Agreed. I wouldn't even care if we had an 8 team playoff with at least every conf. winner getting a guaranteed spot. But as it sits now this garbage will only be used as a phony rationale to get a second $EC team in the field of 4.

I don't want to be #39 until we prove we deserve to be #39.

Ole Miss.... they'll do anything to hype the SEC even more. Might as well rank Vandy, Miss St, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arky while your at it

Ole Miss. had a highly-rated recruiting class in 2013. It included 3 of rivals top 14 rated kids: #1 Robert Nkemdiche, #5 Laremy Tunsil, and #14 Laquon Treadwell (all 5-star guys). People take stuff like that into account. I think voters are much more interested in being right than they are in helping out the SEC.

Ok, so they beat Cincy in a bowl.. WOW color me impressed. GTFOH with " they showed more talent and coaching towards the end".
Typical of our fans.

But they beat 6 unranked teams to finish 7-6 where as we lost to 3 top 25 teams (including the National Champs) and 1 unranked team to finish 9-4...they must be better this year right? :indecisiveness:. I dont think it has anything to do with our lack of showing promise at the end of the season. I think its the fact that the media thinks we're ****ed at the QB position and they assume our defense is going to be as shi*ty as it has been.
