Many on here say Mario left Lanning a great situation, but the #s say otherwise as far as # of transfers Lanning has made in his tenure to improve his roster. This was year 3 of Mario and Lanning is running circles around him again. Oregon got the better of the deal with Mario coming here

We had people celebrating Mario getting rolled by Utah, because they thought it meant Mario might bring that act here. Well, here we are. We got exactly what some of us said we'd get. A terrible game day coach that can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

Agree 100%. Unfortunately, the wrong people didn't see this before hiring him. I don't doubt his love for the U or his desire to return the team to glory, but that doesn't mean it will happen. I would poove to win the lottery, but...

I didn't doubt his love for the U when Alabama was pushing him around during the Sugar Bowl. He's a worse coach.

But hey, he's a local guy who can speak Spanish.

Can you identify particular game-day coaching issues that impacted the outcome of today's game?

Unfortunately we are stuck with Mario for just a little while longer but his time will be up very soon. Hang in there.

The clock is ticking and the bomb will go off. It's just after this massive bomb is what I am worried about.
While a change is probably needed, what next? If Mario can't lead us back, who can (and is willing to take this job)? We can't throw unlimited money like the Texas schools, Bama, Georgia, OSU can

If you think Oregon and Miami’s situation are the same and they started at the same place there is nothing can be said because you aren’t logical and don’t want the truth.

Oregon has over a 70% win pct over the last 2 decades.

Oregon has elite facilities and single NIL spender who can/will and does outspend all of Miami nil efforts combined.

Oregon’s core roster was definitely better than Miamis 3 years ago.

Miami has above average facilities.
Miami has a strong NIL program but is far for the richest.

Miami has been a dumpster fire for 2 decades and have a slightly higher than .500 win %

But yeah sure Dan Lanning’s situation sucked.

Thanks for bringing that fiasco up lol. Guess we're stuck with him and 7-5 or 8-4 seasons as the norm going forward

Roster-improvement happens everywhere, except Clemson.

How about program trajectory and the culture inherited?

Not sure we know just yet - my daughter attended Oregon the last few years - I would argue

Oregon - much better NIL - not even close

Oregon - Mario took over a train wreck at Oregon

Oregon - Much better fan support. I think you can argue our HOME fan support in lower half in CFB

Finally - a ton of Miami's NIL has come SINCE Mario came back to UM

I didn't want to bring it up, but if we're honest here, he flat out got abused that night. The guy who claims to know how to build Miami, and knows all about the culture, was the poster boy for an abused OL. I think Alabama just ran by him again.

My guy it’s literally Mario or never ..no coach after him is gonna get the support from the university that he has.

Considering we're in the aftermath of Syracuse, I'll just say this, Miami and Oregon we're in two completely different circumstances. Miami had lost to FIU and LA Tech the previous seasons and had a roster full of under sized/poor athletes. Oregon was already in the national picture and competing for Rose Bowls.
