Final Four vs. UCONN - 4/1 8:49pm EDT on CBS

Remember one thing- most of whoever wins game 1 fan base is likely to stick and root for Miami because they’ve all been brain washed into thinking UConn is a tougher out for them on Monday.

The most physical team that stays out of foul trouble will win tonight.

I have a different take. When Omier is getting rest, Casey and whoever else takes his spot (that is not in major foul trouble already) needs to play a very physical game in the paint...and GET IN FOUL TROUBLE. Sanogo should not get ANY EASY BUCKETS. He was a 55% Free Throw Shooter his first year. I believe he's around a 73%-75% FT shooter in away games this year. This could help Sanogo's scoring to dip from 17 points to say 14 points and represent the winning margin. We need Dawgs in the paint tonight (but Omier has to play smart to avoid foul trouble). UConn is averaging 79 points (against lesser opponents than Miami). With this strategy, they will likely score around 76 points (or less, if we really frustrate them on D) and we will score 80+ points. UConn is slow & we should be able to slice & dice their D and then have Pack rain some threes on them (and there's no defending that because his range is insane -- so there's literally no way for them to stop that). We're gonna run them off the court. You will see. Go Canes!

I’m not an *** kisser but I am a realist. The huskies are the favorite for a reason. We will have to be firing on all cylinders & play some of the best D we have all year. We can win this game if we play our best. If we play average I’d be shocked with a win. This isn’t a fdu vs purdue game though. It won’t be a stunning upset if we do score the W!

Winner of this game is whoevers center is in foul trouble. Let’s see how the refs call it early will go a long way if Sanogo can pick up 2 early

Disagree. We shoot better on average than you. Our average offense vs your average offense we win. If your d can do what Houston and Texas couldn’t then we’ll have a problem.
Yeah, you win by 1 point..... but yes, using your logic, you win.

I'm mostly glad it's not Jamie Lucky, but was wondering why all the angst over tonight's appointed ref Jeffrey Anderson.
Here's the apparent scoop on RefJef if anyone besides me didn't know:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Good sign for <a href="https://twitter.com/UConnMBB?ref_src=twsrc^tfw">@UConnMBB</a> fans! Jordan Hawkins with team this morning with some toast in hand on way to workout. <a href="https://twitter.com/WTNH?ref_src=twsrc^tfw">@WTNH</a> <a href="https://t.co/Crtc2eHFIg">pic.twitter.com/Crtc2eHFIg</a></p>&mdash; Erik Dobratz (@Erikd25) <a href="">April 1, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Only eating toast you know he’s not getting proper nutrition, probably still can’t digest solid food, and hydration probably an issue.

This is going to be a tough one to pull off. I know they can win this game, but there's going to be little room for error, and I hope that Wong and Pack don't have an off night because we will need to hit 3's this game. I knew this was going to be a special season for this team, and it turned out to be the greatest in Canes Hoops history. The majority of people are expecting UConn to end our season tonight just like Drake, Indiana, Houston, and Texas were going to end it. They didn't pick us all season, and I'm glad they aren't now.
