Final Four vs. UCONN - 4/1 8:49pm EDT on CBS

They just keep moving the goal posts on us. We beat Houston, they were underrated. We beat Texas they weren't healthy. None of this would be said if it were Houston standing here ready to take on UConn. Or if it were Duke. UConn would be respectful to a fault.

If you actually look at the regular season schedules Texas was far more impressive than UConn in the # of ranked teams that they beat

Texas beat:
#2 Gonzaga by 19 and Gonzaga shot the **** out of the ball
#7 Creighton
#17 TCU
#11 Baylor
#7 Kansa state
#23 Iowa st
#3 Kansas
#22 TCU
#3 Kansas

UConn has beaten:
#18 Alabama
#10 Marquette
#20 Providence

They actually haven't had any super impressive wins in this tournament except Gonzaga who shot uncharacteristically bad that night.

UConn will want to take credit for that with their defense, but I disagree. Gonzaga had a bad night. UConn still could've won.

I feel like a lot of this is smoke and mirrors.

We beat Texas when they shot even better than they do in the regular season.

Keep sleeping on the Canes!

Just got done reading the game thread on their site. Some good analysis from them, some complimentary post, but the overwhelming theme is that they will destroy us with match up nightmares. Lot's of talk about some of our losses (gt,fsu) which are ridiculous at this point, metrics etc. The one point I agree with is our D. It will take a smart, fierce effort on that side of the ball from us. The overall tone is that they should just be handed the trophy now. They seem to have forgotten there is a game to be played Saturday night. If they win, I'll tip my cap, but this isn't called March Madness for no reason & I like our chances!!!
Way too much arrogance on that board I’m tellin ya the basketball gods are lookin down on Miami that’s the only metrics ya need to know Huskie fans🦍

You come this far, I really want them to get all the way there. Larranaga deserves it **** it.

It would complete the trifecta of national championships for us. Its **** hard to win this tournament.
Something I believe only 5 other programs have accomplished - gators being one.

It’s a huge moment and opportunity! I trust these Canes to finish the race!

The funny thing the posters on that board keep looking at the Texas game. One Texas was on fire but more they were matched up as mirror images of ourselves which coach L alluded to. UCONN is slower and very physical which needs to be respected but the matchups are way different. Texas was more guard oriented like us that was scary.

How does everyone think Coach L will handle Uconn's inside game along with their ability to hit outside? I hope we don't get rocked out of the building if uconn is shooting well. We need to play good contested D no matter what happens. In other words, I can take it if they shoot well if we are contesting shots on D. But if we don't play good perimter D and get lazy, that will be tough to accept. I feel miami will rise up once again and play a great game, but we will see if it is enough to win. I am cautiously optimistic we can win.

I wonder if Coach L will sprinkle some 2-3 zone with man.

He was sucking off Uconn a little too much for my liking, but really good insight. Idk why non of the Miami podcast people or
Media can get good interviews with coaches and stuff .
He also complimented our guys and was extremely high on Miller and Wong to me.. And you know why our media doesnt get anything! :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

Playing Final Fours in football stadiums almost always has a negative effect on outside shooting. The sight lines for players are so different; usually takes at least a quarter of action to get dialed in. Expect a lot of air balls early.

In 2011, Butler and UConn shot a combined 26 percent from the floor in the Championship game. That one was in NRG Stadium too.

Coach L needs to put up a couple of hoops out on the Greentree practice fields and let them shoot their hearts out

Hate to say it. We are going to have to rely on Walker and Casey to attack the rim straight up and get their big men in foul trouble.
Omeir has to be protected at all costs to play 40 minutes

Started out the season 14-0, 11-8 since(before the first round of the tourney. I am by no means saying they will not be a tough opponent, but a 5.5 point favorite? Nah. Although, so far that has worked for us so keep underestimating this team. They appear to love it.

I’ve had money on us every round so far. Not touching this. UConn looks scary good

True, but Miami always finds a way as it is a multi-faceted offense.

Destroyed Houston with the three-ball. Texas took it away so the Canes carved them up driving to the basket and getting to the foul line.

This UM is a Swiss Army knife that keeps finding ways to score, which it needs to continue on Saturday.
