Final 2024 Class Rankings

Rivals 250 just dropped, below is everything you need to know regarding canes.

Scott: 13th overall (-3)
Lightfoot: 17th overall (+69)
Blount: 26th overall (-5)
Patterson: 36th overall (-16)
JoJo: 52nd overall (+2)
Carr: 56th overall (-21)
Hayes: 67th overall (-23)
Lyle: 81st overall (-2)
Pickett Jr: 90th overall (+104!!)
Chance: 174th overall (-2)
Jones: 199th overall (-11)

Initial thoughts:
Booker is validated, real chance he finishes within top 100 after ESPN/On3 finals. What an all star performance.

No Mack in the 247/Rivals top 250 is shocking to me. I know he’s gonna get a bump but he was very impressive in Orlando (might’ve been most consistent CB all week). This is a snub.

Carr, Hayes & Patterson fall - not crazy amounts but enough to **** you off.

I know its RIvals but 9 top 100 guys is nice! Have we ever done that before (in the modern era)?
Felt like most of their revisions were fair, even the guys that dropped didn't feel ridiculous.

When did Carr start dropping like a rock?

I don't think so. I think we were around 7 last year in the top 150 fro 247. Pretty wild. This was more of a hit on evals (so far)

I like to go by composite instead of just one site, last time Miami had anywhere remotely close was 2008 MNW class.

It’s a good mix and think this strategy will mirrored moving forward. Top heavy spending, then projections and evals at the bottom. Can’t take 20+ heavily ranked kids in todays era (even if you got the cash flow) kids leave too quickly, gotta have some humble kids who know they gotta work and provide depth.

This also frees up spending for “gap” control in portal for one year stops in between.

AA game performance didn't do him many favors and there wasn't much talk of him during the practices either. Surprising given how he dominated during the regular season. Perhaps just a comfort thing with the QBs and new surroundings at the game. Hard to argue guys like the Clemson receiver Moore passing him in current rankings when they dominated against the "best" competition in the all American games.

I agree, now someone explain to me Mack not being top 250… **** wild. I didn’t think he was a top 300 player until AA week. He looked every bit like a top 150 player, so 225-250 seemed reasonable.

This is where I like the On3 industry average. They weigh all 4 sites evenly while 247’s composite puts more weight behind their own rankings than the other 3 sites. Lightfoot is now an Industry 5 star and has us landing three 5 star DL this cycle which is insanely impressive.

Excellent summary. Thank you!

Georgia signed 10 top 100 players, Bama and us signed 7 but Sayin transferred so really they signed 6. We are now #2 in most Top 100 players signed in the class.

Lightfoot is now a 5 star on On3 Composite

FSU dropped out of the top 10 recruiting with ND jumping over them.

Good day.

The seatings seem more than fair. They made essentially all the moves up I was hoping to see. Carr didn’t stand out at all at the AA game was surprising.

I quibble over Trader as he played on both sides of the ball, feel he should have jumped a bit more. And Jones dropping also seems unfair. Mack and McConathy making the 250 was a long shot given they were 3 stars. But hopefully they get a fourth star.

Great news on Lightfoot.

I wonder who’ll be this years Lightfoot (low rank guy that flies up the rankings)

Actually you have that wrong. 247 composite is a 25% clip for all four sites. Below is On3s breakdown.

“For football, the algorithm is weighted as follows: On3 (35%), 247Sports (35%), Rivals.com (20%) and ESPN (10%)”
