I've seen several games. I'm not impressed. A lot of his throws were to butt a** wide open WRs. 3TDs against Miami were wide open busted coverage. Good stats, but look deeper. I want to see how Emory has developed.

This is classic for the portal. Any player with experience is perceived to be better than the players on your own roster that haven't played. Flip Emory to Cal and Mendoza to Miami. Emory would be getting the same accolades and Mendoza would be an unknown sitting behind Cam Ward.

Best case scenario right now is: Mendoza QB1 and Nickel QB2.

I’m afraid the QB situation will not be resolved in the first portal window (deadline in 8 days) though and that would mean no Mendoza imho.

I think one of the kids was his starting left tackle. Saban managed to get the kid off while he was arrested in another state. Drugs and guns in the car. I don’t even think medical use was legal in Louisiana when he got arrested.
