Fernando Mendoza

Some of these story lines lack sense. If Beck is going to stick around why would he leave Georgia? And Georgia is not forcing Beck out to get Mendoza. None of that adds up.
beck seems like the least likely for sure, but there's been rumblings of him not getting along with the OC all year and they have Rashada. him getting injured probably increases the likelihood of him NOT going to the NFL, but transferring? idk. His gf goes to miami - that's the only connection and a safe bet if he wants away from UGA for whatever reason

Beck is by far the best option of the 3 if he enters

ewers will likely go to NFL but his is more likely a real option for us because Texas has Arch waiting and I don't think anyone sees a scenario where it isn't Arch's team next year. Mel kiper came out and said he needs to stay in college another year. I don't think arch manning waits another year so texas likely tells ewers that his time there is up. Is he too prideful to transfer and declares for the NFL draft, or does a team like miami pay him enough and sell him on the cam ward draft rise?

Mendoza? who knows - it's weird we haven't been liked to him yet. either we are and it's under wraps since Mario knows his family personally, or maybe he's interested in someone like Indiana and miami is waiting on someone else (or just rolling with emory)

You can't really believe that can you?

You think we beat Cal, VT, and UL with Mendoza? No way. Heck, even the Duke game is iffy without Cam. Teams follow the QB. A mediocre QB puts us in a mediocre position.
Baylor won about 7 games with a generational QB who also won the Heisman (RGIII).

Then they won 10 games with QB Shapen (or whatever his name was) a few years back.

Yes, the better your qb is, the higher your ceiling - but it also doesn’t mean that if you have an average to above average QB, your team is going to be average.

With Cam Ward we could’ve gone 12-0, maybe 13-0 with an ACCCG title - that was our ceiling - the floor, as we all agreed was 10 wins.

With Mendoza or Emory our ceiling likely would be 11-2 and an ACCCG game appearance (win or loss). The floor would be 8-4 with the possibility of win #9 during bowl play.

It's bizarre.

In 2023 and 2024, Mendoza actually STARTED GAMES in P4.

In 2023, Emory started two games when TVD was hurt, and while admirable in effort and outcome, nobody would argue that either of those games looked like ANYTHING that Mendoza accomplished in either 2023 or 2024 at Cal. In 2024, Emory barely played.

But somehow...SOMEHOW...we have people projecting some sort of magical metamorphosis of Emory's abilities, while continuing to pretend like Mendoza 2025 is the same QB he was at Columbus.

And I love Emory. Kid has heart and brains. He's likely to be a future coach. But come on.

It's insane.
My opinion on Emory is based off people who seen him at practice. Whoever it is that comes at QB is in for a fight.

Does CIS think that, or does the Coaching staff think that?

Are the fans the ones bringing in portal players every year, or are the Coaches?
I mean legit like half of our portal acquisitions will be at DB. And ZERO people are saying we shouldn't be hitting portal hard there.

Not getting all that many starters outside DB. What like 5 non-DB actual starters for 17/18 non-db starting spots - QB, WR, WR, C, DT? And like the WRs will be rotating even if/when we get another guy to pair with Daniels. DT will also be rotating with Blay.... Maybe we get a starting TE, but I think we go for TE2 who will be rotational or for 12 personnel obviously.

"bringing in portal players every year" .... Every team is going to bring portal players every year, so that's completely meaningless.

22-27 HS guys + 8-12 Portal guys yearly.

You completely missed the point.

His GF won't be at Miami next year anyway.
