I'd go with Judd over Max Johnson...
I'd go with Judd over Max Johnson...
How are adding Nickel in with Emory and Judd, dudes still in high school, lol. What does this even mean?
IMHO it is not who is “worthy” the point is how many portal QBs are better than Emory-Nickel-Anderson? There isn’t a Cam Ward this year but I bet we could find someone better than what we have. This should be the whole point.
Maybe right now we can serve all of us better if we admit that they are going with Emory regardless.
I understand we don't want to pay Cam Ward level money for EwersSure but I never made a statement saying we shouldn’t either. I just voiced a scenario where maybe Ewers if he entered didn’t make sense is all. I’d be happy with Ewers but understand if it’s not in the cards and if we do get him, I know he ain’t Cam either.
Me too lolI interpreted his post completely wrong
That's my exact order as well1. Ewers
2. Mendoza
3. Beck
4. Emory
That’s how I’d currently rank the QBs mentioned. Most that don’t agree are just noticing the warts each has (which are legit). None are even close to Ward, so the hope has to be a good/great run game and a vastly improved defense.
Agreed but we will be releasing our Kinzhal next year (hopefully ).Mendoza is a fine option at this point
There were some bigger boom/bust options but I think it was better not to get too aggressive for some of them. Mateer was the guy to get aggressive but we just didn’t have enough to offer
We can’t go into the season Emory-Nickel-Judd. You just can’t
Dawson for whatever reason doesn’t get much credit here but I’m personally a big fan. He could help Mendoza a lot. Obvious concern being losing basically every weapon from last year
I heard buzz he may just be headed back to CalNot sure if previously mentioned, but any buzz about Mendoza and Mizzou?
Did Mario recruit him at Oregon. Saw he was from Oregon. I was hoping maybe there had been some previous contact. That's all it is now. Dillingham has believed in him since FSU. The fam is locked in.

Yeah I think Dawson has shown some good consistency the two years he’s been here. A change in QBs but George and X had similar production even with TVD flailing.
I think with ewers (if he enters), beck(if he enters), or mendoza - we're a top 10 offense againYeah I think Dawson has shown some good consistency the two years he’s been here. A change in QBs but George and X had similar production even with TVD flailing.
Horton and Colbie Young had almost identical production
We had almost identical rushing yard production the last two years even though we swapped a lot of backs (Fletcher being the main holdover)
It’s not a huge sample size but these aren’t NFL first round picks as far as receivers and backs so I am optimistic we can be in the ballpark
It’s tough when you factor the NIL. I don’t know specifics but if you could say get Mendoza and a safety and a nickel for the price of Ewers…feels like a no brainer to me. But I’m way outside the loop on stuff like that I do like the focus on defense so far thoughI think with ewers (if he enters), beck(if he enters), or mendoza - we're a top 10 offense again
With emory I feel like we can be a top 20-25 offense but more centered on the run
Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Belichick sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Oh wait...wrong thread......Or does it really matter??? I mean they all turn into the same thing anyway...right???...
i agree - I guess I'm looking through the lens of already getting poyser, Brantley, Blay, and likely lucas -It’s tough when you factor the NIL. ***** is undefeated ... he's dating one of the Cavenders. Some of these story lines lack sense. If Beck is going to stick around why would he leave Georgia? And Georgia is not forcing Beck out to get Mendoza. None of that adds up.
No doubt. Without Cam the only thing we can do is try and find better balance. I like what we’ve done so fari agree - I guess I'm looking through the lens of already getting poyser, Brantley, Blay, and likely lucas -
a few more depth adds, another WR sure - but if getting cam ward taught us anything then it's having the best QB in the game gives you a chance to win no matter what else is happening
