Feedback on 3 Stars?

Okay. And how do you ever plan on beating the elite teams (Clemson) if more than half your class is 3 stars and theirs is 4 and 5 stars?

Talent wins out, we saw how big the gap in December. Richt is a good coach, he's not a great one. And that's fine, as long as you can out talent the opponent.

We can in the Coastal this way as we still are pulling in more talent than the rest. But that's not the ultimate goal, at least it shouldn't be.

Have you seen Clemson's class?

More than half of it is 3*.

Guess you never even bothered to look

Have to look at the kids/positions we are in need of this cycle. We aren't going after a ton of kids that play the flashy positions which is what Florida has a lot of high ranked kids in. We are loading up on the positions we need this cycle and '20 will make people worry less because of the positions we will be recruiting more of that year...

MIAMI has also signed a lot of 3 star recruits that could and should have been 4 star recruits!! Look at Surge19', we have (Harvey, Brooks and Crowley) that should all be 4 star already.. Then we have others that could be 4 star by season end!!

Talent is important but coaching is more important. Look at Gary Patterson and Chris Peterson as two examples of coaches that can coach regardless of talent. TCU very rarely recruited better than Texas but towards the end TCU was the better program.

As @jmccomber5 stated there is a direct correlation between the "Blue Chip" ratio and winning at high levels. That is fact. However when the talent isn't as rich in a year as in S. FL then it matters much which 3*s you take. For the "Al Golden" class BS this class is nothing like an AG class.

2 of our lowest rated commits are someone who might be the best defender in Dade (Sam Brooks) and a kid that was hurt last year, but fits what you look for in the DT position IMO (Munoz),

Another 2 of our lowest rated is an OL that has EVERY trait that you want in OL except he isn't 6'5" with long arms (Equankin), and our new commit Holley. It sucks for your "average player rating," but when you flip on the film you can see them contributing (I really like Kingsley and hope he sticks).

We have 2-3 other commits that will probably get a rating when it is all said and done. Crowley (Possible top 3-5 back in State who makes plays in camp settings and has good film. Plus he is big), Harvey (Long athletes with a burst off the edge get bumps cause of projections as long as he has a strong senior campain), and Cam Williams.

That leaves Good, Brownlee, Hodges, and possibly Nunn if he pulls the trigger. Nunn and Brownlee are probably upper level Dade players this year as it appears to be a down year at the position. Hodges fits a certain role and Good is a true project albeit one with great physical traits. It would be nice if the class had more star power, but i can see this class being around 12-15 3* players. We just have to hope the staff has the "right" 3*s and right the ship in '20 and '21

That’s fine and all if you are at tcu, this is miami with tons of blue chip prospects within a 35 mile radius. I like most of the 3 Star takes we have and that’s fine as long if you land enough blue chip kids to go in the class as well. We are doing okay in recruiting, obviously not at the level we were last year but the staff is just going to have to win some battles, it’s that simple.

I will Say 2019 class just seems like an off year all together in terms of us connecting with kids how we want/should imo, 2018 class we connected very well with almost every recruit we recruited even the ones that didn’t come here. 2019 class that remains to be seen but in 2020 class you see kind of that 2018 class trend which gives me hope and say maybe it’s just the 2019 class but who knows man.

I guess if we took trash like Maurice Goolsby and Jaleel Mccrae guys like @jmccomber5 would think its a better class.

What a joke.

Yeah, you want guys like Stevenson and Bogle, but there are plenty of 4* players who just aren't good.

I do like saying you can't win a championship without an arbtrary blue chip #. Like guys like Greg Rousseau aren't good enough just because of what some morons at 247 think

2019 as a national class doesn't seem as strong as 2018 or 2020. I won't complain because this class isn't even complete. We win and we could close with Bogle, Ingraham, Stevenson, Neal, MAR, and McIntosh who would say that that class wasn't elite?? I don't care what the stars say. For those that look at stars who are the the talent evaluators that rank the recruits for 247? Is it the writers like Newberg?

If you look at the list of offers for the majority of these so-called 3 stars they are highly coveted guys by major programs. Go look at the Paradise camp list on this forum and check for yourself. These aren't your Golden's type of 3 stars being recruited by the likes of Buffalo. Most of these guys are just underrated and probably will get a bump between now and signing day. Coaches are basing evals with their eyes and relative to other guys they personally see at camps and are not just throwing darts at some recruiting list.

Marcus Crowley is a 3 star if u place his tape against some of the 4 star running backs I'm sure we can have a legitimate argument between who is better. I stopped listening to the star argument when someone from I believe from 247 came on and said the only reason Brevin wasn't a 5 star was his height but then we found Isaac Nauta and other players of similar height who were 5 stars. Only question I ask is can this player help us win a championship.

3star guys who are underrated to me and should be 4 stars that we have committed?
Jahfari harvey should be a 4 star
Sam brooks should be a 4 star
Crowley should be a 4 star
Can Williams should be a 4 atar

Now I do think Holley may be flying under the radar as he looks like an athletic dt with a crazy wingspan 6’2 290 and plays with speed and quickness. Looks the part imo. Also Kingsley Eguakun, I dont Know if any of you sat down and watched his performances but this kid plays nasty and has a nasty mean streak and loves to punish folks. I see Him being our starting center in the future.

How many of these threads will there be before signing day? Can we not just have 1 thread for people that don't like our commits to ***** and whine in?

And we still have people comparing Coach Richt to Golden? He's already broke our bowl losing streak, had a 10 win season and won the coastal for the first time ever(in his 1st 2 seasons mind you) but because there's a few too many 3 stars in this 1 class, we got people comparing him to arguably the worst coach we've ever had. Just stop.

Wii needs moar borderline 4 starz guyzzmm. It’z da Miami wayz guyzzmm...

Some people care more about the stars than can a kid actually play. How many stars was Michael Jackson or Jaquan Johnson? I'm curious. What about McFadden that went to FSU?

Johnson was a consensus 4 star and MJ was a consesus 3 star, but Rivals had him as a 4 star. What about Denzel Ward? Curious about his amount of stars? 4 stars.

I really don't know who will end up being 4 stars but point being that what the coaches are seeing in a lot of these current 3 stars, other big time programs are seeing too. I trust our coaches know talent when they see it and apparently others in the biz agree with their assessment.
