F*cking Olivier Vernon

I got you Sky, but thats like plugging your ears, and closing your eyes, while yelling LALALALALALA in the corner hoping the problem goes away. These young men that bought into "the process" last year knew ths possibilities of the repercussions facing them this year, from previous teams downfalls. I am sure that is part of the reason why this team is so young and why so many of those assclowns left last year. They knew. I get being a fan, I get it. But I'd rather get busy winning, then get busy losing. Which way is it gonna be?

What is the big deal in what he said?

The school doesn't have the players back cuz they banned another bowl game.. Did you not read it?? Pretty clear we're in this mess because of players like him.. Pretty selfish in my book used to be a fan of Olivier but **** him now.. Guy isnt very bright..

To be fair, Vernon paid back his benefits and was suspended and paid the piper for his piece in this pie.

Vernon should have stuck around and gotten more development from a great coaching staff and been paid more dollars than he received leaving early. The fact that he had to "pay the piper" and left early shows his stupid decision making. That culture is changing...

I think the point here is more that he said the school doesn't have the players backs, because they are self imposing due to something he had a direct effect on. Glad to see all Canes performing well in the league, but this guy has about as much right to complain about the school as Ray Ray.

Perhaps he would have made a few more dollars...but, he would have come here and played, risked injury, etc. for another season that ends with an outtadawoodwerks bowl ban.

I hate to side with ol Olivier, but he has been justified leaving. Guy is making good coin, playing a lot, and is productive in the NFL. He'll more than make up for that lost coin by getting a big contract a year earlier.

LOL! GTFOOH! Vernon was far being a finished product. His numbers sucked balls and his salary reflects that of a player with potential rather than production. Another year under Golden would have reaped him huge rewards regardless of a bowl game. Bowl games mean jack in the grand scheme of things. You think NFL scouts are going to drop their bid because a player hasn't played in some meaningless bowl game? What a joke!

Sorry Vernon! You didn't play in the weedeater bowl so we're not going to throw cash at you? LOL!!!

The fact is bowl ban is the best thing for the program. Now the players can play for something real moving forward and not the Campbell's Soup Bowl this season.

Vernon can't see this because he isn't a very smart guy. He's proven that with his comments through the years.

But wait, Vernon "paid the piper"!!!

When Golden speaks of culture change he isn't limiting that to just the players. Our fans are in desperate need of a culture change themselves. We aren't being led by a Coker Shannon anymore. We're in good hands! Think Howard, Jimmy, Dennis, or Butch...

Miami went out and got that young, fiery, up and coming stud balling HC that everybody wants. CFB is in for some ****...

What if he tore up his knee? Suffered a series of concussions? Who knows. He was coasting after he came back from suspension last year in the first place, but ultimately...Point being he would have come back for very little gain in the long run. No team success, no unit success...perhaps some personal success as a collegiate, but none of that is guaranteed for a slew of reasons.

He ended up being the highest drafted 'Cane last year...third rounder...the difference between his contract and say that of Nick Perry, was about five million dollars (a little more than 3M in guaranteed money), but, Vernon will get a contract extension or new contract, sooner than the late first round pick. Nevermind receiving a contract extension sooner than if he was a first round pick this year.

"Again" pretty sure that is how this convo began, but none the less the Canes are digging themselves out of a hole that Vernon and others dug. "At the end of the day" we all just need to keep "moving forward" and be "the same guy everyday". Love my Canes. I'm out. GOODNIGHT DARK CONTINENT!

Paid the piper??? He violated rules paid what a few hundred dollars back and now the school and current players, that had nothing to do with ****piro, have to pay the real piper.. I'm pretty sure he got the better end of the bargin there.. The worst statement in that article was "I'm not there no more so I'm not worried about it" ***** please I thought the U was all about family doesn't seem that way any more.. This sure as **** ain't all his fault but I would of expected something along the lines of "we'll they're trying to fix a bad situation and I feel sorry for the seniors(his old teammates by the way) and wish them the best" but no he acting like a bitter self entitled *****..

LOL!

The highest drafted player at the 3rd round? Like I said, the Canes fans need a real culture change! Vernon should have stayed and developed another offseason and produced this year. Him coming off the other end with Chick might have given this team another two wins. Please just stop!

Also, so Vernon ran a greater risk of tearing up his knee at Miami compared to the NFL? GTFOOH!

God ****, GoV needs to get his *** in here.

So we are siding with Vernons contract over the Canes future?

The discussions have nothing to do with one another.

I beg to differ! Vernon had to pay back the most money of any player investigated. Now he wants to throw his two cents in and it has nothing to do with one another? What a joke...

Vernon bounced for greener pastures when he could have stayed and made more money this post season. He took the easy way out. That culture is done in Miami! Haul *** Vernon!

GD! You can't debate so you're asking for one of your cronies to come save you? LOL!!!!

GoV? Where are you? Bye bye entitlement phonies! There's a new sheriff in town! Golden don't play that!

My god! Never thought I would see the day that fans are backing a sellout 3rd round draft pick over the program as a whole. Thanks Larry!!!

Whether he stayed or left was none of my business and I'm sure he did what was best for him and his family but please don't go throwing stones at your alma mater "you made your bed now lay in it" .. He needs to go by the old saying "if you don't have nothing nice to say then don't say nothing"..
