Ezekiel Marcelin commits to Miami

Not only that. He said in the interview that D Nic and Cristobal offered him as a freshman. D Nic was still at Louisville when he offered.

As a freshman he had offers from Kentucky, Vols, Tamu, Michigan, Auburn, and us.

Again, we never know who’s gonna pan out.
But dudes on here acting like we flipped some dude from Stetson or some sht.

LOL, we’re not looking for a “typical” UM LB, we’re looking to do things the right way, and FFS, that doesn’t include a 205 pound LB.
That should be the minimum weight of our safety. This kid has followed instructions and worked his *** off to put on size for a reason and at 218 he’s getting close to where he needs to be! Kudos to the young fella!

You “don’t want him to come in over 220”, SMFH, that asinine south Florida mentality has to change if we’re ever going to compete!
You got it ...you know it my man. lol We wouldnt understand.

Tell me the weights of Bobby Pruitt who they are pubbing right now....and how much does Wesley Bissainthe weighs/ Ill hang up and listen.

According to the article at the top, the avg weight for a D1 LB is 215-230. I'm not sure what the problem with a 220 LB is.

Kyle Dugger is one of the NFLs premier defensive players and pancakes offensive linemen when he comes on a blitz. He's 6'2 220. What's the fuss about?

Not a thing wrong with 220. But everything wrong with suggesting our LBs should be 205 especially when the kids are following strict plans to get them to the 220-230 area.

... that's exactly why undersized players should come in at 205, especially with a lack of athletic traits.

It's easier to bulk up to 220 instead of trying to reshape 220.

Nah. You just continue to highlight your incompetence. The message is clear for those that get it. The south Florida narrative of playing undersized players because they’re faster is over. The culture i
your out of touch linebackers size has gone down on a whole for years from the nfl going down.

Its not a south florida narrative at all. lol

Everyone is just coming around to it..a Miami line backer typically came in anywere from 200-215 typically and built up. Sure there were bigger but predominantly i can list a ton of em in that mold including the GOAT Ray Lewis who was around in a time where 240 pound backers were the norm in college.

Common sense.

The culture is changing so much that we have guys like Tank Dell and Xavier Worthy both under 165 pounds all thru the nfl because they dont have the fear of being decapitated.

Nah. Miss me with all the BS. Start with Michigan, then the other 3 playoff teams, then the remaining 6 of the top 10 teams and find out their starting LB size (pause). I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the 205-210 you posted they should be and it’s not even the 220 you posted that you didn’t want EM to be over.

EM WILL come into Miami over 220 because he was instructed to do so. As I said, incompetence on your part to suggest otherwise and it’s why I called it out. Kudos to young man for putting in the effort!

1.)Tell me the weights of Bobby Pruitt and Wes Bissainthe?. You have seemed to avoid that one.

Ok lets add this as well.

Tell me who was the first lb taken in the draft?. Help Me out with that one.

Got a few more for you tooo...

Payton Wilson and Junior Colson were the big interior lbs coming in over 220 as freshman.

Its almost like.......I know what im talking about when it comes to football. lol

If he was instructed to come over 220 GREAT for him i could care less...he can come in at 250 if he can play. I just laid my opinions...which jives with what is taken place in the football world based on the above.
My fav LB in the class is Melendez and he is above 225....so it aint me having a s.fla narrative on lb size lol

@Bender mans must think im some rookie or a recruiting novice. lol

That's not really fair to say either. The size of your players is typically dependent on the competition we face throughout our schedule. When you speak about big 10 or sec schools for the most part size is the one common factor. They're built for the physicality they will face throughout their schedule. You both have valid points. While we're in the acc size isn't really a pivotal factor. Who's gonna put physical us in the acc besides possibly Clemson & once in a blue fspoo? No one. Teams are built for speed because size isn't common. We're in the process of bringing that gap where we take on a lil more size while attempting to maintain a level of speed. To dive further into it, nothing at all wrong with some undersized will backers so long as you build up the trenches and the safety rooms the right way. Just comes down to what their roles on inside of this scheme. Cause physicality typically ain't it for a will. So y'all got no need to argue. You both got fair points. & By the way, IF he is being instructed to come in over 220 (which I'm not confirming or denying because I don't know)the sole purpose in that is us saying we expect him to have some type of role NEXT SEASON. Typically you do want guys to come in a lil under that so feld can build them up in the mold we want. In this instance feld already has him on a regiment.

Logical post as always! For the success of our team and safety of our players, we ARE planning to play bigger backers. And that doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice speed. We’re just recruiting better to get the best of both worlds.
