Ezekiel Marcelin commits to Miami

That's not really fair to say either. The size of your players is typically dependent on the competition we face throughout our schedule. When you speak about big 10 or sec schools for the most part size is the one common factor. They're built for the physicality they will face throughout their schedule. You both have valid points. While we're in the acc size isn't really a pivotal factor. Who's gonna put physical us in the acc besides possibly Clemson & once in a blue fspoo? No one. Teams are built for speed because size isn't common. We're in the process of bringing that gap where we take on a lil more size while attempting to maintain a level of speed. To dive further into it, nothing at all wrong with some undersized will backers so long as you build up the trenches and the safety rooms the right way. Just comes down to what their roles on inside of this scheme. Cause physicality typically ain't it for a will. So y'all got no need to argue. You both got fair points. & By the way, IF he is being instructed to come in over 220 (which I'm not confirming or denying because I don't know)the sole purpose in that is us saying we expect him to have some type of role NEXT SEASON. Typically you do want guys to come in a lil under that so feld can build them up in the mold we want. In this instance feld already has him on a regiment.
You said the same thing i said.

I saw him as a Will and thought maybe he is around 5'11-6'0 Ive never seen him in person so i said i wouldnt want him coming in too big...and thought he had good weight right now honestly as i saw more pictures. Then he said he is about 218 right now i expect him to lose some of that during the szn ..if he is an early enrollee ( i would expect) then he will be coming in at a good size to add some if his frame allows it.

Logical post as always! For the success of our team and safety of our players, we ARE planning to play bigger backers. And that doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice speed. We’re just recruiting better to get the best of both worlds.
As we should.

I probably was THE FIRST one on Manny Diaz when i realize i had no f*ckin idea on what type of lb he wanted to recruit and it was his position he coached. I knew dude was a bit flustered there was no rhyme or reason there.

Nicholson was a big lb himself and seems to know what he wants there.

The Pruitt kid was a shocker cause son is probably not much above 205 pds right now but he packs a punch and can run like the wind.

I love Pruitts athleticism and as you said his hitting ability. Like EM, I’m confident he’ll put on good weight without sacrificing his quickness.

SECOND on Mandy thank you... Far as lbers like Pruitt, key is remembering he was a tweener all the way until he got here. Kid was the proto typical Louisiana or ga tweener who floated between Strong,Sam, Will, & Star. Honestly it's what gives him so much value. Kids a master of none but **** good at plenty. It's a perfect fit for our defense as it's built now.

dude is wiry strong.....that country boy strength i can get with it.

I admit i was NOT high on Marcelin. I coached Lil Vince who played next to him last szn who we had committed. Vince looks to be flashing already at Nebraska and folks have stated Marcelin is ahead of Vince as a player. We shll see as i may catch a few central games this year i only watched one last year.

Nix, Marcelin, Melendez are some extreme quicks and heat seekers at LB for this class.

Yea he impressed me in the spring game...one play seen him spill...the next he is covering 30 yards down the field stride for stride.

Why not just get both big and fast, big pause no diddy. If someone is small and to good to ignore grab him and if it’s too much they transfer out. Simple

@DMoney in the October 16 Bank

Gavin Nix (IMG) and Ezekiel Marcelin (Central) are leading their respective defenses as expected.
