Eye-opening stat on the running game

Best balanced offense we’ve had in a long time. We have a big time QB, RBs, OL, WRs and TE

The defense having too many holes and a real talent deficiency is what will hold us back from making a real title run

Will be such a shame if this team doesn’t make it to Charlotte because they lost to Tech and Syracuse.

They have to find a way to beat Syracuse this weekend.

Syracuse gave up 300 yards rushing a few weeks ago. Pound them and make them tap out. Cam you don’t have to be a hero !!!

Whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game. Both teams will score a lot.

Which offense protects the ball, runs the ball and gets just enough defensive stops.

Cam can’t have a multiple turnover game or it’s over.

It is an eye-opening stat, especially for the fans that haven't been watching the games carefully.

Martinez is almost at 750 yards, Fletch is at 500 yards. Jordan Lyle just broke 350. We are at 2,000 yards rushing AS A TEAM right now, with games remaining to be played.

Assuming Miami beats Syracuse, we would have AT LEAST 3 more games in 2024 for guys to add to their stats.

It is entirely possible that we have a 1,000 yard rusher (not very common at Miami) IN THE SAME YEAR that our QB sets the all-time single-season passing yardage record at UM.

Truly impressive.
Where do you get ‘at least 3 more games’ if we beat Cuse? Not being a smart ***, wondering if I’m missing something.

Lyle is going to be a great one by the looks of it. But part of his success in small spots has been an OL just wearing a defense down along with LB’s and DB’s getting trucked by Damon and Mark. Imagine 50 minutes into a game and then they run out Lyles fresh legs.

I love Cam and our passing attack but I def hope we try to impose our will a bit on Cuse early and beat them up.

I think our fans keep going back and forth so much about the running game because we just wait to see what the other defense is doing and take what they give

Like earlier in the season everyone *****ing we couldn’t run it Dawson was like yo they are daring us to throw it so we will just light them up then

I think what's equally impressive is that the run game gets stronger as the game progresses. But Mario mentioned on Joe Rose today that for Wake we were something like (paraphrasing) 4 YPC in Q1, 5 YPC in Q2, 5.5 in Q3 and 10 in Q4. I don't know how these states look across every game. But it certainly feels like we tire out defenses with our smashmouth trench play. Those late runs by Martinez these past few games have been epic.

The trend probably holds up across the whole season. #28 & #21 are averaging 8.2 ypc with 66 carries, most of which happened in the 4th quarter. Martinez has had some huge runs in the 4th quarter as well.

@HurricanePhilly makes a great point about Lyle - he's been awesome, but a big reason why his numbes have been so eye-popping is situational. Give him all of Martinez's carries and I'd bet my condo that Martinez has a better ypc.

We average more yards per carry as a team (5.4) than any team in the ACC, SEC or Big 10.

Overall, we’re tenth nationally behind some G5 teams, Notre Dame, Kansas State and UCF.

And of course, we’re the best passing team in college football.

I agree, we should fire Dawson. It’s the logical next step.

But seriously, we’ve got to be able to sell that to portal QBs, especially those with lame duck HCs.

Crazy a few months ago we were all down about the running game. We’ve progressed here as a team. Defense also picked up on Saturday albeit against a mediocre Wake team. We are getting better, hopefully we are now starting to hit our stride
We were never nearly as bad as most of the run-mopers tried making it sound. This offense is completely elite and championship level. It's not perfect, which is not the same as elite and championship level. Some porsters on here think the two concepts (perfect and championship level) are synonymous. You can usually tell because they're the ones using the buzzwords like "evals" and "player develpoment" combined with "unacceptable" while b!tching and moaning about this awful 10-1 record-breaking team.

Who would have thought out of all the coaches Cristobal would build the most dominant offense we ever had given all the offensive concerns some had about him before being the coach at Miami.
All that caping for bro in Mississippi was disappointing to see.
