You have been a UM fan for too long to be unaware of how the football gods like to torture us. UM fans tarred and feathered Diaz and said he is a garbage coach who destroyed the program. So of course, that greatly increases the odds that Diaz makes the title game in his first season at Duke because we are cursed.

Duke is beating FSU- everyone does. NC State is horrible. VT's HC is a knucklehead and will find a way to give away the game. Call that one the Corching Super Bowl. Whichever HC shoots himself in the foot the least wins that game.

So then that leaves Miami, SMU, and GT. Diaz knows everything about Lashlee's offense. He literally hired the guy as his OC. Duke gets SMU at home, it's not impossible for Duke to find a way to win that game. So then that leaves UM and GT. I think GT is VASTLY overrated- people are impressed they finished over .500 last year. GT barely squeaked by FSU. Their other wins are against VMI and Georgia State. FSU was ranked #10 to open the season, lol. Beating "#10 FSU" by 3 points is their signature win. So then there is Miami. I think Duke loses 2 games: Miami and one of either VT or SMU.

Because of the hate Miami will always be held to a different standard. Forget about schedule strength, traveling cross country, and having to run the table. They use this bull**** only when they need an excuse to get the team they want in the playoff. I think Mario knows this. It’s hard to run the table there will be a lot of teams at the end of the year with loses. We Control our destiny and because we are Miami we need to be in a position that the committee can’t deny.
 
For a board full of people that trash the ACC and talked all offseason about how ****** our schedule is, many seem surprised at this stunning turn of events

There's no excuses. Our schedule is nearly as weak as Duke's. They play UNC, SMU, and NCST. We play Cal, Louisville, and Syracuse. The other 5 opponents are the same.

Miami's schedule is slightly more difficult than Duke's given we play Louisville. Not by much, though.

Side note, just looked at FanDuel. They have us as a -6.5 favorite against Louisville which shocked me
 
When playing Norre Dame, Jimmy told the team not to put the game in the officials' hands. Similarly, we can't leave this in the committees' hands. Just handle business.

I think the playoff committee is going to view it as a loss in the beauty contest. When there was a 4 team playoff, there were usually 3 no-brainers, and then the fourth spot was a fight between 2-3 teams that had a reasonable argument for getting that 4th spot. In a 12 team playoff, there will probably be 5 or 6 locks (the P4 conference winners and then 1-2 at-large teams that are clearly much better than the rest). Then there will be a huge mass of teams from P5 and G5 that are vying for the other 6 spots. If we have one loss going into the ACC championship game and lose that game, then I suspect that we'll be essentially be viewed as a 3 loss team because of the VT game, especially given the perception of the ACC as a weak conference. The one thing that could change that is if UM is absolutely dominant from now to the end of the season. If that's the case then the VT game might just be viewed as a flukey Friday night aberration and won't hurt us.

One will be Saturday. GT will beat them by 2 scores.

Just don't promise to eat dog **** if GT loses that game. We don't need the curse to transfer from FSU "It Follows" style. BTW would be funny if FSU fans realize they aren't going to break the curse by finding the guy who is harder to find than Bin Laden, so their new strategy is to try and get some other fan from a different team to promise to eat dog **** so the curse jumps to another fanbase.
