ESPN saying we need to run the table to the ACC championship game…

Probably fair.

I don't think 11-1 in the regular season and losing to Clemson in the ACCCG gets you one of the 7 available at-large spots.

We know **** well 2+ will go to the SEC and 2+ will go to the B1G. A 3rd team in those 2 leagues, a 2nd team in the Big12 and a 2nd team in the ACC will fight over the last 3 spots.

MAYBE if the 1 regular season loss is to Louisville in a dogfight and the ACCCG is a very good game/close loss, it's possible. But this schedule is pure, open ***. Don't lose a game before Charlotte, period.

If we lose two regular season games, Duke might be playing Clemson in the ACC championship. Their schedule through the end of the season is a cakewalk.

Fan reaction to Diaz making it to the ACC championship in year 1 would be quite the spectacle.
Duke is not going undefeated....3 to 4 losses coming!!

Depends on so many things so it is way too early. But I will still play the game here.

If it is a blowout where we look like absolute crap then sure, there is a chance.

If it is an OT loss and Cam puts up huge numbers and is the overall favorite for Heisman I think the committee would not be that harsh on us.

pretty wild we went from a gorup of 4 to a group of 12 and we still feel that we need to go undefeated in the regular season to make it

i suspect many will lose and we'd be fine either way as long as we kept any losses we may get close

In order to definitely make the 12 team playoff with our schedule strength 🤞🏻

Dinich: Miami. The Canes' path is tough not only because of back-to-back road trips to Cal and Louisville, but also because if they don't win the ACC, they might not have enough on their resume to get an at-large bid. The pressure is on, especially after a close, controversial home win against Virginia Tech. Saturday's game at Cal marks the first time Miami has to leave its home state -- and if they play like they did against the Hokies, an upset is possible. Then they have a bye week to recover from the trip out West before traveling to Louisville. If Miami runs the table but loses to Clemson in the ACC championship game, the Canes still have a great chance of getting in the playoff as an at-large team. If Miami loses at Cal, though, or has a bad loss and doesn't win the league, its schedule strength will be called into question on Selection Day.

How can these two ideas exist in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence. Our path is hard because we play two tough teams on the road back to back, but also because we have a cupcake schedule?

What also could help us is cam being a Heisman candidate if we lose and he is still putting up numbers we might get in because of him.

A cupcake schedule compared to playing an SEC schedule.

Refs stepping in to make these games more competitive doesn’t help either… that TD that got wiped with that weak holding call makes the difference
counter point: we didnt tackle well, we blew coverages, we misplayed sacks, we couldnt contain the edge, and we turned it over 3 times (twice in VTs redzone). we also had our weaknesses exposed for 2 weeks now

We just need to hang 70 on them @HardRock, then they'll be forced to win the ACC to get in.

Also have to remember, Danny Miaz will have a boner all week and it will show when and as he is preparing his team to come back to Miami. If they lost all there games but won this one, it would put a smile on his face.

And yes, this conference is awful. These teams get up for certain games and not entire seasons like we are used to. The teams like UNC, Duke, UVA, Wake, NC State, all know they're not going to a National Championship. They don't get up for the long hall. They get up for games against us and FSU.

Miami used to do that. I think we are getting back there. If you hang around sh**, you start to smell like it eventually. That is what happened to the program. To be honest, the jury is still out on whether we can.

Should we run the table? Yes. Will we? Almost certainly not.

If Miami wins out they would go into the ACC champ game ranked in top four. That would give them a leeway of 7 spots to fall because the group of 5 team will get the 12th spot. Best case beat a 1 or 2 loss Clemson in the champ game. Miami would be in with the bye. One loss Miami winning the ACC conf. gets in. 2 loss SEC and Big ten teams for sure get in. A 3 loss team is possible but I do not see it. Will they put a 1 loss (bad loss) ND team if they win out in with no conf champ game?

We need to run the table but Georgia can lose three games. Doesn't seem fair to me but can't say I'm surprised. SEC bias has always been there but it's definitely gotten more blatant in the past couple years.

A one-loss Georgia would never have been ranked above an undefeated Miami a decade ago, no matter the schedule.
