Mario has TWO EFFING WEEKS to get this Defense unf**ked.

No way is Cam playing in the Brazzers Bang Bus Bowl against San Diego State. Emory will; Cam won't.

However, give Guidry a couple of weeks to burnish his resume for his next job and we MIGHT be able to look decent against ND at South Bend. That's where we'll play. Not Texas. The Suits want Catholics vs. Convicts again.

Explain the insanity it takes to believe "oh we have two weeks to get ready on defense"

when WE HAVE ALREADY THIS SEASON TWICE HAD TWO WEEKS OFF TO GET READY ON DEFENSE?!?!

I genuinely believe if Saban was still the HC, Miami would get screwed. But not this time.

If we were doing this how one large mega conference would do it, we have two losses, they have three. Done. But it isn't, so let's look at more:

Olemiss/Bama beat SC, SC is gone. (h2h trumps common opponent). Olemiss loss to UF should disqualify them vs. us.

That leaves Bama. They lost to 6-6 Vandy by 5, 21 to 6-6 OU, and by 7 to a ranked Tennessee. They are 1-3 vs. bowl eligible teams on the road. We are 4-2. Our two losses are one score losses on the road vs. a GT team that went to 8 OTs vs. Georgia and a 9 win Syracuse team. Both ole miss and bama's only bright spot has been beating Georgia. Who again went to 8 OTs with GT. Alabama's offense/qb have been abysmal lately (and don't tell me it doesn't matter, see FSU/Jordan Travis situation).

I don't care if we make it or not, but read all that and tell me why they deserve it. Recruiting class rankings? The fact they play in the SEC and can't beat the **** teams in it? Because they're going to take their ball and go home?

Bring back the BCS if it stays at 12 or just make it a 4-6 team playoff. This **** is exhausting.

Taking 3 loss teams because theyre in the SEC sets a terrible precedent.

I completely agree. Bama has ZERO reason to be in any CFP conversation. They've sucked in the second half of the season and got annihilated by a terrible OU team.

If you take Bama's resume and apply it to any team not named Bama, there is zero chance that team makes the CFP. Bama's graded on a curve due to past success. A friend of mine who's a Bama fan acknowledged as much. There's literally no reason to put them in except SEC SEC SEC and even then the SEC hasn't been elite this year.

Maybe not ND, but Texas and Oregon both have the Dline as well as the back 7 to seriously limit our offense. Would we still score? Sure. But not nearly as well as we have all season. They also have a pulse on offense and either of them would drop 40+ on us.
 
If we are in the top 12 it will be because the selection committee knows that Cam is a draw and the they need to make up for last years FSU decision.
SMU beating Syracuse will help a lot.

I'm not delusional and realize Miami can lose just as easily to Boise as Oregon BUT I don't care who the other team's Defense is, Miami can score against any of them. Miami's only chance to beat any of these teams in the rankings is to flat out outscore them. I give Cam and crew a puncher's chance to do that. Mario for his part, absolutely has to call a perfect game; clock, flow, decisions and strategy to make this work. And for us dreamers, Mario would have to do this for 4 straight games to raise the trophy.

For me it’s simple. Ole Miss doesn’t have a blowout loss, Bama does. Ole Miss also has a much wider margin of victory against UGA and SC, who are both teams best wins.

Has nothing to do with Cam and Miami being a ratings draw, they are just bonuses. If Miami gets in, it’s bc Miami is a P4 team with 2 losses vs 3 P4 teams with 3 losses. It’s that simple. It’s that easily justified. They also avoid having to explain why one 3 loss team got in over the other two.

The thing is, Cam and the offense would have to be nearly perfect. Like scoring on 80%+ of offensive drives. Because any team that's in the playoffs will be capable of doing the same against our defense except maybe one or two. That means no Cam ward bad INTs, no flukey Restrepo fumbles, no Dawson stalling drives by calling stupid ******* WR screens.

Miami’s offense is so good and can keep us in any game. No team is blowing Miami out.

There’s been like 6 teams with 30+ points on us and the most we’ve lost by is 5. Idc if it’s Oregon or Texas. Miami will be in every game they play this year as long as Cam is playing.

If the D can make a couple big plays that would help are chances. Meesh dropping that INT against Cuse which probably would have been a pick 6 is an example.
